Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir (2023) Full Review – Is it Better?

Ralph’s Club Elixir.

It’s a darker take on Ralph’s Club Parfum.

Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir was released in 2023. It is based on lavender, spice, and smoky wood. It lasts eight to nine hours on the skin with great projection. This review will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir Smell Like?

The first spray is all about lavender. I can’t emphasize it enough; it’s intense. I have to give it a minute before anything else can come through. The lavender picks up an earthy nature. It is simply authentic rather than powdery and lipsticky like other lavender-dominant fragrances.

In the background are wafts of citrus and smoky incense. The citruses are fleeting. I can’t pick out one individually. They give a fresh ambiance. Yet, this is never a blast of freshness like you’d get in a summer scent. At the same time, smoky tinges sneak up from the base.

After a few minutes, cardamom comes through. It is unique. Instead of its typical warm spice nature, it heads in a green direction. It smells more like rosemary, sage, and other herbal notes with a hint of spice. This will be the final addition until the dry down.

The dry down stays similar. The smoky incense has gotten stronger, and there are light, woody additions. There are no specific wood notes that stick out to me. Wood notes are usually a prominent base note, but here that’s not the case.

The rest of the wear is lavender and smoky incense with spicy and woody accents.

Performance

The longevity ranges from eight to nine hours with above-average to moderate projection. The first two to three hours push out an arm’s length with a solid scent bubble. After this period, it recedes but maintains a decent ambiance for the rest of the wear. The projection will always be present.

The sillage is as good. This will leave a multiple-foot scent trail as you move around. It just doesn’t have the density to hang in the air for ten seconds after you walk by. This performance is with four sprays.

This is all occasion wear. The Ralph’s Club line is known for its versatility, but the Elixir version knocks it out of the park. This is all occasion wear but shines for formal occasions and dates because of the super alluring lavender and incense combination. Yet, for all other occasions, it never becomes too much.

The seasonality seems as if it will be as good. At the time of writing, it has just started to become fall weather. Thus, I’ve only been able to try it in the warm weather. I can tell you that it’s a no-go in the high heat of summer. However, for the mild temperatures of spring, fall, and winter, this will a show-stopper.

*I will update this section once I can wear it in colder weather.

The mass appeal and likability are great. I haven’t gotten a compliment yet, but it has the scent profile to do so. I enjoy it more for its mass appeal. It is difficult to offend anyone in the office or other close quarters.

Lastly, the uniqueness is slightly above average. It has similarities to the rest of the line. But the lavender and smoky incense duo stands out. It is uncommon, as incense is almost always paired with vanilla or wood notes.

Final Words

Is Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir worth it? Yes. This is the best from the line. The aspect I appreciate most is its outstanding quality. A 100mL bottle retails for $140. This is expensive, but you get what you pay for and then some.

Is owning the Elixir version redundant if you own the rest of the line? A little bit. If you enjoyed the Parfum and Eau de Parfum versions but didn’t LOVE them, this is only worth a sample. If you love these two, you’ll love the Elixir version even more.

Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir is an excellent cologne. Yet, don’t limit yourself to Ralph’s Club Elixir. Check out the best Polo fragrances for men. All are quality for a decently affordable price; you might find your signature scent.
