What Does Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Smell Like?
Bright and uplifting grapefruit awakens your senses and sparkles off your skin. In the first few minutes, grapefruit takes the lead. Yet, vetiver is still prevalent in the background.
Now, this is a vetiver scent done well. It never comes off as piercing or assaulting my nose, as some vetivers do. Instead, it is green with soapy cleanliness.
Over time vetiver gains more and more prominence. Always maintaining a smooth and creamy balance with grapefruit. Into the mid, Grey vetiver picks up slightly green and herbaceous spicy qualities. They are subtle but still present.
Woody notes emerge in the dry-down. Mostly, they add a masculine depth to the grapefruit and vetiver mixture.

On the skin, it lasts 7 – 8 hours with light to moderate projection. It consistently pushes out 2 – 3 feet for hours before receding. Nothing that will fill a room but will always make your presence known.

Yes. At the time of writing, a 100mL bottle costs $215 on the Tom Ford Official Website. This is affordable for a Tom Ford fragrance, considering it’s vetiver-based. On top of this, the excellent smell and performance.
The only downfall is potentially the prominent note of vetiver. To some noses, vetiver is a decisive note and, thus, will come off as smelling “bad.”

Grey Vetiver EDP Tom Ford was released in 2009 and perfumed by Harry Fremont. The Tom Ford Brand was created in 2006.
