Sauvage Parfum.
A darker take on the Sauvage DNA.
Dior Sauvage EDP was released in 2019. It is based on citrus, amber, and vanilla. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin, with excellent projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Dior Sauvage Parfum Smell Like?
The opening starts with a tamed dose of bergamot. In the background are elemi and olibanum. Both resins have various spicy, woody accents, working together for the same goal.
This is interesting because there are ambroxan and pepper notes in the other Sauvage concentrations. Here you still have the same aroma but in a more mild presentation.
The heart of the fragrance has a heavy sweet vanilla accord. This pairs perfectly with previous resins, as they are smooth and creamy. The citric nature of bergamot has faded but left fresh accents. It helps break up the depth of the resins and vanilla pair.
After multiple hours, the resins’ spicy wood accents slowly become creamier and smoother. Until they fade in the dry down, hand over dominance to creamy and smooth sandalwood.
The spicy woods still remain but only amplify the woodiness of sandalwood. Near the end of wear, there is an addition of smoky incense. The sweet vanilla remains in the background, providing Sauvage Parfum with its alluring aroma.

Performance
The performance is excellent. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with above-average projection. Like all Sauvage’s, it nearly fills the room with its projection, pushing out multiple feet for hours before receding.
It’s extremely versatile. It works in the spring, fall, and winter. But becomes too intense in the summer. On the cooler days, it can be worn, but on the hottest days, it’s too heavy. As for occasions, all. Out of the entire Sauvage line, this is the most sophisticated and alluring, better for formal occasions.
If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get 10 – 11 months of wear out of Sauvage Parfum. The warmer your climate, the less versatile it becomes.
Lastly, you know the mass appeal and likability are fantastic. This is an easy fragrance to spray on and go. It’ll never offend anyone. The only problem you may have is that the smell won’t be unique to you. The Sauvage DNA is very popular. But even then, this differs enough to set itself apart from the EDT and EDP versions.
Where Should I Buy Dior Sauvage Parfum?
Final Words
Any Sauvage is worth it. But how does this differ from the entire line? For this section, I will act like the Elixir version doesn’t exist because it deviates the most from the Sauvage DNA.
Sauvage Parfum is the most well-rounded, richest, and most mature of the entire line. It loses the lavender note in the mid of the fragrance, and the void is filled by a more prominent sweet vanilla note.
This makes Sauvage Parfum the most alluring from the line. It is “sexier” than it is “complimentable.” The EDT version is the opposite, and the EDP version is in between. This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for the same mass-appealing DNA but with a more mature touch.
However, I only recommend the EDP version and the Elixir version. The EDP version is more affordable and similar to the Parfum version. While the Elixir version deviates the most and gives your collection variety.
In short, Dior Sauvage Parfum is worth it. But make sure there aren’t better options for you.
After you try Dior Sauvage Parfum, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
