Bond No 9 Tribeca Review – Everything You Need To Know

Tribeca.

Is this really a Baccarat Rouge 540 dupe?

Bond No 9 Tribeca was released in 2020. It is based on amber, caramel, and wood. It lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe the smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Bond No 9 Tribeca Smell Like?

One word: Delicious. The first spray spares no time; it is a duo of sweet caramel and nutty hazelnut. It smells melted and sugary but isn’t too candy-like. The nuttiness gives the caramel a “sparkle.” Grabbing attention and breaking up its intensity. Does it smell like you could eat it? Yes!

The overarching emphasis in the opening is sweetness. Even though it is heavy, it remains elegant and airy. Give the scent a few minutes, and it’ll head into the mid.

Before I talk about the mid, I want to mention that I smelt few cacao/chocolate notes. This took me back as it is such a gourmand fragrance.

Jasmine notes are the newest addition in the mid. They contribute a white floral aroma with green and herbal undertones. Before it jumps to the forefront, it adds a degree of cleanliness/freshness. This plays into how it keeps the intense sweetness light and wearable. I like to think of them as “caramelized” white florals – like cooking.

The dry-down finishes with deep, sensual amber and warm woods. They weaken the floral stronghold on the scent. Yet, never push them into the backseat. The rest of the wear is amber and cedar, with jasmine in the background and gourmand nuances.

Performance

Tribeca lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. The first few hours, it pushes out an arm’s length, then recedes to an intimate projection but never becomes a skin scent. This performance is with three sprays.

This is exclusively fall and winter wear. Some will say that this is suitable for all seasons. I’ve tried it in the mild spring and summer temperatures, and it was too overpowering, even with spray moderation.

You may not care if it’s overwhelming for others, but it’ll be overwhelming for you too. You’ll get five to six months of wearability in a four-season climate.

As for occasions, it is for special events. It shines on dates and formal occasions because of its delicious gourmand nature. During other situations, it is too overwhelming.

Lastly, mass appeal and likability are above-average. Who doesn’t like a fragrance that smells like you could eat it?

Bond No 9 Tribeca Dupe

Baccarat Rouge 540 EDP is the most similar fragrance. The two have an airy and sweet opening with a prominent amber accord throughout. However, TriBeCa is a denser fragrance based on the base’s woods. Both are similar but still unique in their own way.

Final Words

There’s no denying that Tribeca is Gourmand goodness. However, is it worth it? It’s worth a sample or decant. My biggest red flag as a man writing this is its feminity. It isn’t exclusively for women but definitely feminine. A man could pull this off, but it all depends on your tolerance for unisex fragrances.

I enjoyed testing this fragrance, but for the price point, there may be better gourmand options like Angels Share or Black Phantom. They won’t offer you the amber and floral accords but are delicious and seductive.
