What Does African Leather Memo Paris Smell Like?

Upon the first spray is a blast of warm cardamom and saffron. They both smell sweet and spicy to my nose, but the spices take the lead in this case. They are quite attention-grabbing and mass-appealing.

Underneath the top duo is a combination of leather and vetiver. The leather is prominent in the opening but not at its peak strength yet. A slightly aromatic nature from the vetiver helps temper the spices and stops the leather from getting too intense.

As the dry-down starts, the vetiver rises, giving the scent more complexity with woody accents. It was bound to happen eventually. Leather takes over; it is all about smooth and wearable leather for the rest of the wear. There are spicy accents, but they have drastically weakened.

African Leather Memo Paris notes:

Performance

African Leather lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with moderate and consistent projection. It pushes out an arm’s length for the first two to three hours. After this period, it recedes but maintains a two-foot scent bubble for the rest of the wear.

The sillage is slightly better. With the depth of leather, the more you move around, the better this smell and the better it projects. This performance is with three sprays.

This is fall, winter, and early spring wear. I recommend moderating your sprays if you know it will get warm that day. Even just one will still create a present aroma. In the heat, this doesn’t project further but does get intense around you, potentially making you nauseous.

You’ll get six to seven months of wear if you live in a four-season climate. As for occasions, it is all. One of the better parts about African Leather is its wearability. This versatility comes from both moderate projection and a unique scent profile.

Lastly, mass appeal and likability are above-average. Above all, it is likable, never overwhelming, and has an enjoyable scent profile. However, it’s not your typical attention grabber. It garners attention because of the intriguing aroma.

Final Words

If you’re looking for a similar fragrance but more of your typical oud fragrance, African Rose Memo Paris is a great choice. It has leather and spice accords but focuses a lot on the oud-rose-saffron combination. While African leather is slightly fresher.

The final burning question is, is African Leather Memo Paris worth it? Yes, This is an extremely wearable and unique fragrance. It’s a great way to spice up your collection without adding a decisive fragrance that only you enjoy.

After you try African Leather Memo Paris, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
