Santal Blush.

A lesser-known Tom Ford fragrance for men and women.

Tom Ford Santal Blush was released in 2011. It is based on wood and spices. It lasts six hours on the skin with intimate projection.

In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

Quick Summary

  • Santal Blush is not discontinued.
  • This smells like playful flowers on top of milky wood.
  • The most noticeable notes: Various spices, Ylang – Ylang, Sandalwood, and Benzoin.
  • Santal Blush is unisex but more feminine than masculine.
  • The performance is weak: Four to five hours on the skin with light projection.

What Does Tom Ford Santal Blush Smell Like?

Soft, attractive, and interesting from the get-go. White florals are the first thing I get when I spray this on. Next comes some spiced edges that lightly coat the florals and showcase them like a prize.

Within the first minute, a warm sandalwood note is peaking in and out. It is far from the strength it will be later in the wear. At this point, in the first few minutes, you’ll smell spicy florals and light woods.

Once everything settles, in comes ylang-ylang. Yes, I know this is an odd name, but it is a rich, yellow floral with a decent sweetness.

For a good portion of the wear after this, the yellow florals with the opening trio will be the entire wear. But, in the end, the sandalwood will take over the scent.

As the scent finishes developing, it is 85% woody, with the rest being white and yellow florals that make the sandalwood milky and smooth.

Santal Blush Performance

How Long Does Santal Blush Last?

Santal Blush lasts six hours on the skin with intimate projection. It pushes out one foot for the entire wear. This is weak, but it’s at least very wearable.

This performance is with five sprays.

When Should I Wear Santal Blush?

This is fall, winter, and spring wear. In warmer temperatures, you’ll have to moderate your sprays. It doesn’t project further but does get more intense and creates a suffocating aroma.

As for occasions, it is exclusively for special events. This juice is too charming to be wasted on anything else.

Is Santal Blush Likable?

Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are excellent. This is a subtle and extremely high-quality fragrance. It may not get compliments, but it will definitely grab attention.

Is Tom Ford Santal Blush Discontinued?

Santal Blush is not discontinued. The confusion comes from it being rebottled. It used to come in brown packaging with a brown bottle like the one below and in the infographic.

However, it has recently changed to a clear bottle with a brown top and label.

They are the same scent but in different packaging. Santal Blush can still be readily found on Tom Ford’s official website, retailers, and discounters.

Is Santal Blush Worth It?

Definitely, the performance is poor, but the quality of the fragrance makes up for it. This is one of the accurate sandalwood representations in perfume form.

The only other downfall is it’s unisex but slightly feminine. If your collection is built solely on ultra-masculine fragrances, this won’t be your cup of tea.
