Eau Duelle EDP.
One of the best vanilla fragrances for men.
Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP was released 2013. It is based on vanilla with amber and spice nuances. It lasts six hours on the skin with light projection.
In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP Smell Like?
Upon the first spray is an overload of warm vanilla. In the background, I smell wafts of smoky incense, amber, and spices.
In the first 15-20 minutes, the spices stand out most. They coat the edges of the vanilla and showcase it like a prize. They are spicy, but they also have a semi-sweet tinge.
This goes to show the quality used here. At this point, amber and incense are giving the vanilla depth. After this period, the spices fell back, becoming harder to find.
Smoky incense takes its place. For me, this is when the scent is best. The incense takes the vanilla in a darker direction.
It develops a sense of mystery and allure while remaining comforting. The smoke is not so intense that it smells burnt. Instead, think of it as glazed or caramelized vanilla. It was only in the pan for a few seconds.
This smoky vanilla will dominate til the one to two-hour mark.
At this point, the spices are gone. This is the start of the dry-down. The vanilla is perceived as stronger only because the smoky incense weakened. The amber is still present and gives the fragrance depth.
The rest of the wear is warm, smoky vanilla atop amber.

Performance
Eau Duelle EDP lasts six hours on the skin with light projection. The first one to two hours has two-foot projection.
After this period, it recedes to a light ambiance for the rest of the wear. The sillage is not much better. The more you move around, this doesn’t project better. This performance is with four sprays.
As you can tell, this Eau Duelle EDP isn’t known for its performance :-(.
This is spring, fall, and winter wear. If it’s going to be warm that day, moderate your sprays.
As for occasions, it is all. This is one of the best aspects, as the subtle projection allows for close-quarter settings. But also has a quality aroma for all other occasions.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. Like its versatility, Eau Duelle is a likable and subtle fragrance that can be enjoyed by those around you, but it won’t consume them.
Final Words
The most similar fragrance is Eau Duelle EDT. Outside of the line is Metal Wave Alllsaints. Unfortunately, I don’t have experience with either of these fragrances. Thus, I can’t compare and contrast their differences.
So, is Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP worth it? Yes. I love this fragrance most from its combination of versatility and quality.
I can as easily wear this as casual wear as I can for chilling with my significant other and every other situation. Eau Duelle will always be present, alluring, and never overwhelming.
Eau Duelle EDP is an excellent cologne and is known for its smoky vanilla. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to Eau Duelle EDP. Check out the best Incense colognes.
