Azzaro Chrome EDT

Azzaro Chrome EDT (2023) Full Review – Do You Need it?

Chrome EDT.

An affordable fresh fragrance.

Azzaro Chrome EDT was released in 1996. It is based on citruses, aromatics, and subtle woods. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Azzaro Chrome EDT Smell Like?

The opening starts with an intense blast of citrus and bergamot. It is metallic, unforgiving, and in your face. As the opening develops, aromatics are significantly added, most notably rosemary. It has the same degree of spice and herbalness experienced in fresh rosemary from the grocery store.

The overarching emphasis in the opening is a fresh aroma. After 10-15 minutes, the mid starts to develop, tempering the intensity of the citruses. Much of this is Oak Moss with green, woody, and earthy tinges. It blends mostly with the aromatics as the citruses quickly dissipate.

The base is a complete change. It is still fresh, but the prominent notes are musk nuances and light wood. I can’t specifically smell oak moss anymore. It’s just a variety of wood notes. The musk and fresh woods are what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

Performance

Chrome EDT lasts five to six hours on the skin. This is quite impressive for a citrus-based fragrance. The projection is decent for the first two hours; it pushes out two feet. After this period, it becomes a skin scent. This performance is with five sprays.

This is exclusively spring and summer wear. There is no depth to the fragrance to allow it to last. As for occasions, it is casual and office wear. The projection is perfect for these situations as it is subtle. However, dates and formal occasions are a no-go. Chrome EDT doesn’t have any standout factor.

The mass appeal and likability are average to slightly below average. The citruses are synthetic, and there’s nothing special about the fragrance to grab attention and garner verbal compliments.

Lastly, the uniqueness is below average. This is a very simple citrus and aromatic fragrance. There’s nothing special about it. The only “standout” factor is its old-school vibe.

Besuited Aroma gives Azzaro Chrome EDT a 4.7 out of 10 rating.

Azzaro Chrome EDT Clones

The best dupe of Azzaro Chrome EDT is Calvin Klein CK One. They’re very similar fragrances, especially with the old-school citrus aroma. The biggest difference is CK One’s larger emphasis on green and “aquatic” notes versus’s Chrome EDT’s more aromatic nature.

Final Words

The final burning question is, is Azzaro Chrome EDT worth it? No. The opening 15 minutes smells just like Big Sexy Spray. Have you hugged a woman who douses their hair in hairspray? Well, this is exactly what Chrome EDT smells like.

Yes, it’s affordable, but you’re better off spending your money on other fresh fragrances. Versace Man Eau Fraiche is slightly more expensive but provides a similar old-school and ultra-fresh nature while being high quality.

If you try Azzaro Chrome EDT, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
