Colonia EDC.
An old-school citrus fragrance.
Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC was released in 1916. It is based on citruses and aromatics. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC Smell Like?
The opening is a blast of vividly authentic lemon and orange. It is mature and sophisticated. It feels like something a 1920s gentleman with a fedora hat on would wear. It soon develops into a semi-woody note enhanced by fresh herbal aromatics.
After a while, the top notes still linger with the addition of soft floral notes. They are clean and subtle, making the fragrance unisex but still on the masculine side. Into the dry down, it is a woody and earthy base with a soapy nature. It emphasizes cleanliness and has an almost aftershave-type feel.
A simple and mature scent. It leans towards an aftershave rather than a men’s cologne.

Performance
Colonia EDC lasts five to six hours on the skin, with light projection. For a large beginning of the wear, it has a two-foot scent bubble. After this period, it gets lighter but maintains a present, gentleman-like aroma. This performance is with five sprays.
This is spring and summer wear. It doesn’t have the depth to last in the cooler weather. As for occasions, it is all. Colonia is a very wearable fragrance, and this is one of its best aspects. Sophisticated for special events and pleasing for casual events and office wear.
This easy wearability plays into its excellent mass appeal and likability. Who doesn’t enjoy a clean and gentlemanly fragrance? It is simple and never too overwhelming for those around you. Easy for everyone to enjoy.
Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC Clones
There are a few Colonia dupes, but the most similar I have experience with is Acqua di Parma Essenza di Colonia. It is a similar citrus and aromatic dominant fragrance. However, there are subtle additions of white florals.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC worth it? Yes. This a great fragrance to grab and go during the summer. Its simplicity is my favorite part. It’s uncommon to find a quality fragrance like this for a decently affordable price.
After you try Acqua di Parma Colonia EDC, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
