Acqua Viva Profumum Roma Review – Why You Need It

Acqua Viva.

The simplest niche fragrance for beginners.

Acqua Viva Profumum Roma was released in 2006. It is based on citruses, woods, and aromatics. It lasts six hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Acqua Viva Profumum Roma Smell Like?

Just because it’s niche doesn’t mean it needs to be complicated.

It is all about bright and authentic lemon from the first spray to the end of the wear. This is good and bad, depending on your tastes. It smells freshly squeezed, but with that, it is also slightly bitter. Yet, luckily the strength never slaps you in the face but rather envelops you in citric freshness.

The base has cypress and cedar woodiness. Neither are present in equal strength to the citruses. The cypress has a slightly aromatic tinge from its piney accent, but the larger emphasis of the duo is the subtle woody accord. Both linger in the background and provide the scent with minimal depth.

Acqua Viva Profumum Roma notes:

  • Lemon
  • Cypress
  • Cedar
  • Laburnum

Performance

Acqua Viva lasts six hours on the skin with light projection. It pushes out an arm’s length at its peak for the first couple of hours. Once the lemon note starts to fade, so does the projection. It recedes to a light ambiance for the rest of the wear. This performance is with five sprays.

This is exclusively late spring and summer wear. This fragrance has no depth to help it cut through any cool air. You’ll get three months of wear if you live in a four-season climate.

As for occasions, it is all. Simple and sophisticated to fit into any situation. This helps its mass appeal and likability, which is excellent. Who doesn’t like the smell of a subtle and authentic lemon note? This is very refreshing on a hot summer day.

Acqua Viva Profumum Roma Clones

There are numerous Acqua Viva clones. Based on fragrantica, the most similar is Eau d’Hadrien Goutal and Mancera Lemon Line. I have yet to try these two, so unfortunately, I can’t compare the similarities and differences.

Final Words

Is Acqua Viva Profumum Roma worth it? Yes. It lacks versatility and only has average performance, but… you have to consider the scent profile.

For an almost exclusively citrus fragrance, this has stellar longevity and projection. On top of this, it carries a blend of notes that are actually niche quality, AND it’s a decently affordable niche fragrance.

This can’t be your only fragrance, but it’s worth having.

After you try Acqua Viva Profumum Roma, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
