Bentley for Men Intense Review – Why You Need It

Bentley for Men Intense.

An affordable and masculine fragrance.

Bentley for Men Intense was released in 2013 and is based on woods, spices, amber, and rum. It lasts 12+ hours on the skin with excellent projection.

In this review, I’ll describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Bentley for Men Intense Smell Like?

The opening starts with a unique mixture but jumps into its masculine nature. There is a fleeting hint of fresh bergamot. It is so fast and faint it is almost unnoticeable.

A hefty dose of boozy rum and subtle warm spices are more prevalent. The first 10 – 15 minutes is all about this dominant rum accord.

To my nose, it is sweet and a quality boozy. Many poorly done boozy scents smell like you just came out of a bar from a long night, reeking of alcohol.

Instead, Bentley for Men Intense has a finer and elegant aged rum aroma.

The background’s black pepper and cinnamon spice help the rum accord not become too much. Black pepper has an invigorating, attention-grabbing spice. While the cinnamon blends well with the rum accord.

The prominence of the rum accord recedes the longer the scent sits on the skin.

This opens the door for a trio of cedar, incense, and benzoin. The warm and creamy cedar is the most prominent of the three. The scent transitions the warmth of rum to cedar seamlessly here.

The creamy accents come from the resinous benzoin, the cedar note’s right-hand man. Incense is the final of the three, giving the dry-down a diverse scent character and helping retain the masculinity of the fragrance.

The rest of the wear stays similar to the dry-down. The resins have gotten heavier and darker. The most prominent accord is a deep woody accord with lingering warm boozy nuances in the background.

Performance

If the smell doesn’t win you over, the performance will.

On the skin, it lasts 12+ hours and often until the next day. My “Longest Lasting Fragrances for Men” featured it because it’s so strong. The projection is the same. It will fill a room for hours and ever become a skin scent.

This is the type of fragrance that, applied too heavily in the heat at the office, will get you sent home early.

Speaking of heat and wearability, Bentley for Men Intense is exclusively for fall and winter. The scent profile is geared most toward this time of year, and the strong performance needs taming somehow.

The strength can be its own downfall. This is only a casual situation fragrance. I’ll only wear this when I know I will be out and about and in open areas.

Lastly, how are the mass appeal and complementability? Pretty great; people love the masculine allure of the woods, rum, and spices.
