#5 – Adidas Pure Game
The opening is all about bright citrus with green undertones. The overarching emphasis is freshness. The most prominent grapefruit brings a bitter/astringent lemon note.
Some herbal/aromatic spices are in the background, but they never reach the forefront. As the wear continues, it retains the freshness but becomes significantly more green from basil. The dry-down finishes are slightly darker. There is a nice fresh woods that give the fragrance depth.
The longevity is in the three-hour range with intimate projection. It is present for the first hour. After this period, it is a skin scent. This is exclusively spring and summer wear for casual situations.
#4 – Adidas Dynamic Pulse
Dynamic Pulse is a fresh fragrance but uses greens to emphasize the aroma rather than fruits and citruses. The opening is all about slightly spicy and green mint. The background has fruity and citric nuances.
It retains this cleanliness for the rest of the wear. Five minutes in, it adds a woody depth. This is an extremely simple and linear scent. It is exclusively a fresh, green, and woody fragrance.
This lasts two to three hours with subtle projection from the get-go. It is spring and summer wear for casual situations.
#3 – Adidas Victory League
The opening is all about being sweet and spicy. There’s a great apple and pear blend in the opening. It is both fresh and sweet but never overwhelming. Vanilla and a spicy cinnamon kick give the fruits depth.
As the scent develops, it becomes more and more about powdery vanilla while the sweet and fruity nature dissipates. After the first 15 minutes, you’re left with a vanilla-based scent and cinnamon nuances.
The longevity is in the two to three-hour range. It is present for the first half an hour. After this period, it recedes to a skin for the rest of the wear. It is all season and occasion wear.
#2 – Adidas Get Ready! For Him
The opening is fruity and oceanic. It grabbed my attention with the first spray. There is an interesting combination of juicy pineapple and mandarin orange with the aquatic notes. It is not a complete sea note, as it has no saltiness, but you get the idea.
As the wear continues, touches of fresh aromatics and woody nuances add. However, the main emphasis for the entire wear is the fresh, fruity water notes.
This lasts up to three hours. It is present for the first half an hour. After this period, it is a skin scent for the rest of the wear. It is exclusively summer wear for casual occasions.
#1 – Adidas Moves
The opening starts with a fresh wateriness paired with fruit notes. The fruits are just general apple and pineapple notes, slightly fresh, sweet, etc… In the background is a clean musk and green spices; much comes from mint.
As the wear develops, it gets significantly greener. You’ll smell a green depth with fresher nuances sitting atop the rest of the wear.
The longevity is in the two to three-hour range. It is present for the first half an hour. After this period, it is a skin scent for the rest of the wear. This is spring and summer wear for all occasions.
Final Words
All Adidas fragrances have performance issues; many are geared as gym or active scents – what you’d expect. Despite these issues, the top two are reasonable choices for the $10 you pay.
I still recommend paying $10-15 more for a better, cheap cologne. However, if this is all your money, then Adidas and Axe are your best scents.
If you try an Adidas fragrance, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
