#5 – Silver Water & Birch

The opening starts with sharp freshness. There’s no citrus or pepper note, just a metallic tinge, and an aquatic accord. The metallic tinge comes from a combination of aquatic and Oakmoss notes.

As the mid develops, a significant dose of oak moss donates earthy accents. In the background are floral rose notes. They aren’t listed in the scent tree, but this is what I pick up. They help keep the fragrance fresh.

The dry down happens after two hours on the skin. It is mostly a woody birch note that gives the fragrance depth and carries the nature of oak moss into the base.

This lasts five hours on the skin with light projection. The first two hours, it pushes out two feet. After this period, it becomes a skin scent for the rest of the wear. This is spring, summer, and early fall wear for all occasions.

Silver Water & Birch Performance

  • Longevity: 5 hours
  • Projection and Sillage: Light
  • Versatility: Spring, Summer & Early Fall for all occasions
  • Most Prominent Notes: Aquatic, Oakmoss, Rose, and Birch

#4 – Palo Santo

The opening is exceptionally green and smells like a pleasant blend of pickles – I know I know not what you want to smell like but trust me. Five minutes into the wear, a milky nature adds and soothes over the fragrance.

As the mid develops, the intensity of the pickle accord is fading. Its void is filled with creamy, woody, and light warm spice. This comes from a combination of cardamom and Palo Santo wood. It never comes across as too sweet or offensive, making it very wearable.

The dry-down is just the same. The pickle accord is still present. It sits atop the woody base. The creaminess of the woods is similar to that found in sandalwood.

This lasts four to five hours on the skin with light projection. It only projects for the first hour before receding. This is all seasons and occasions wear. I recommend spraying heavier in the winter.

Palo Santo Performance

  • Longevity: 4 – 5 hours
  • Projection and Sillage: Light
  • Versatility: All seasons and occasions
  • Most Prominent Notes: Palo Santo, Papyrus & Cardamom

#3 – Blue Cedar & Cypress

The opening is all about green lemon. There is a minty nature; attribute this to the prominent Cypress note. Within 15 minutes, much of the citric lemon nature fades. This allows the heart of the fragrance to get significantly more woody and aromatic.

It’s all about green and woody cypress for a large portion of the wear. A warm cedar base sneaks its way in. The rest of the wear is cypress and warm cedar.

This lasts five hours on the skin with light projection. Like many other Cremo colognes, it pushes out one to two feet at its peak. After this period, it becomes a skin scent. This is all-season and occasion wear.

Blue Cedar & Cypress Performance

  • Longevity: 5 hours
  • Projection and Sillage: Light
  • Versatility: All seasons and occasions
  • Most Prominent Notes: Cypress, Lemon & Cedar

#2 – Bourbon & Oak

This is the most simple fragrance on the list. Bourbon & Oak opens with equal booze and a sweeter, slightly spicy vanilla. The dry-down finishes with powdery oak notes. The rest of the wear is semi-sweet wood.

This lasts six hours on the skin with light projection. The first one to two hours, it pushes out two feet. After this period, it becomes a skin scent. Bourbon & Oak is best worn in the fall and winter and for all occasions. It is a great affordable date night fragrance with its alluring combination of notes.

Bourbon & Oak Performance

  • Longevity: 6 hours
  • Projection and Sillage: Light
  • Versatility: Fall and winter for all occasions
  • Most Prominent Notes: Bourbon, Vanilla, Spices, and Oak

#1 – Spice & Black Vanilla

The opening is led by an intense dose of cardamom. It is slightly peppery and not as smooth as in fragrances like YSL La Nuit de L’Homme EDT. However, it’s never off-putting. Within moments it’s enveloped by warm vanilla.

This is an excellent combination as both are warm and smooth. This combination will dominate into the mid, maintaining the perfect balance between sweet and subdued.

After one to two hours, the vanilla gains a powdery accent. While light vetiver nuances linger into the base and give, the fragrance added depth. Vetiver is equal parts woody and slightly aromatic.

The prevalence of cardamom has faded into the base, but the scent retains the invigoring spice. While the vanilla dominates with woody nuances for the rest of the wear.

Spice and Black Vanilla lasts five hours on the skin with light projection. The first spray pushes out a couple of feet and remains present for the rest of the wear. This is fall and winter wear for all occasions.

Spice & Black Vanilla Performance

  • Longevity: 5 hours
  • Projection and Sillage: Light
  • Versatility: Fall and winter for all occasions
  • Most Prominent Notes: Vanilla, Vetiver, and Spice
