One of the best gourmand fragrances.
This review will describe the five best Kilian Angels Share dupes. I will detail their smell and performance and compare the clone and Angels Share.
Table of Contents
#5 – Zara Sand Desert at Sunset
The opening is led by an orange-cinnamon combination. This may not sound appealing, but trust me, it’s great. The combination is juicy, zesty, and warm at the same time.
The citric orange fades into the mid and is replaced by slightly smoky incense and vanillic tonka bean. Now, you’ll have a smoky, warm spice with vanilla faucets. The dry down comes quickly. It’s a trio of delicious chocolate, warm cedar woods, and a subtle iris.
This isn’t the best dupe, hence why it’s ranked fifth, but it has many similarities to Angels Share. The longevity is in the four to five-hour range with light projection. It pushes out for half an hour to an hour, then becomes a skin scent. This is spring, fall, and winter wear.
#4 – Hermes Hermessence Ambre Narguile
The opening is based on spicy and sweet white florals. The warm spices come from the cinnamon note found in Angels Share. You’ll smell a cinnamon apple pie aroma within a few minutes. It’s still spicy florals but significantly more gourmand.
The mid comes quickly with sweet and dark rum, sitting atop a warm amber, sweet vanilla, and fruit-like tobacco. The mid is a large portion of wear, simplifying as it develops. The dry down is left with a beautiful tobacco and vanilla combination atop a woody and ambery base. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.
This lasts 10 – 12 hours on the skin with above-average projection. The first three to four hours push out an arm’s length. After this period, it recedes to a light ambiance. This is exclusively fall and winter wear for all occasions.
#3 – Daniel Josier Ambre Tabac
The opening is led by a fleeting hit of fruity and sweet bergamot. Within a few moments, it is washed over by a dominant tobacco and amber duo with cinnamon spice sprinkled on top. The cinnamon isn’t necessarily invigorating but rather an intriguing addition to rich tobacco and amber.
Although the bergamot note fades, the sweetness remains. It is never overpowering or syrupy. Like cinnamon, it is a great addition to the top notes.
Tobacco and amber remain strong into the mid and are welcomed by warm and sensual vanilla. With the addition of vanilla, the sweetness gets stronger but remains pleasant. The overarching emphasis of the fragrance is warmth.
Patchouli is the newest addition to the dry down. It brings slightly woody and earthy additions. It isn’t prominent but breaks up the monotony of the tobacco, amber, and vanilla. The rest of the wear is this dominant trio with woody nuances.
Ambre Tabac lasts ten hours on the skin with moderate and consistent projection. It pushes out a couple of feet for most of the wear. This is fall and winter wear. As for occasions, it is all but going out.
#2 – Parfums de Marly Oajan
A blend of tonka bean, cinnamon, and benzoin is most prominent from the opening. In a few minutes, a stronger vanilla note becomes present. Until then, tonka bean presents the vanillic-like accord.
The real stars in the opening are the other two. Cinnamon enhances benzoin, and the duo has a rich, dark sweetness with spicy nuances. Yet, interestingly enough, the aroma is fresh, which I find particularly enjoyable in a heavier scent.
So now, 5 minutes in, the vanilla note comes through along with honey. This thick and creamy pairing blends perfectly with cinnamon. The sweetness starts to drown out the spice at this point, but it is always present. For most of the wear, not much else is happening but these three notes.
After a while, the dry-down starts to develop, and it is all about the resinous finish. It has an ambery feel and mixes with the lingering deep vanilla and warm spices. There is some sweetness, but it is more about the depth and “darkness.”
Oajan lasts 12+ hours on the skin with multiple feet projection for hours. As for seasons and occasions, this is exclusively fall and winter wear. And occasions are all.
#1 – Kismet Angel Maison Alhambra
I’ll be honest, y’all, this is as true a dupe as a dupe can get. If you wore Angels Share one day and then Kismet Angel the next, all your friends or coworkers would think you wore the same scent two days in a row.
However, side by side, you can tell the difference, first from the quality. Kismet Angel smells cheaper but is never synthetic or off-putting. The mid is less boozy in Kismet Angel; it elects for a slightly spicier mid from cinnamon.
The only other noticeable difference is lighter wood in the base. Angels Share’s base makes a statement of depth and power with its sandalwood and oak combination. Kismet Angel’s woods are just present.
This lasts six to seven hours on the skin, with moderate to light projection. The first hour pushes out well; it is a soft ambiance til hour three, then a skin scent for the rest of the wear. This fall and winter wear for special occasions.
Final Words
It’s definitely worth having an Angels Share dupe. Kismet Angel is as accurate as they get. All others on the list are similar but don’t deliver the same replication.
After you try an Angels Share dupe, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
