Bond No 9 Greenwich Village

Bond No 9 Greenwich Village Review – Is It a Must-Have?

Greenwich Village.

One of Bond No 9’s best fragrances.

Bond No 9 Greenwich Village was released in 2019. It is based on fresh florals, sweet fruits, and musk notes. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Bond No. 9 Greenwich Village Smell Like?

The first spray is all about ambroxan. It isn’t as heavy as usual but adds a warm depth. Ambroxan pairs with fresher and fruity accents. The two most prominent fruits in the scent tree are Litchi and Orange.

I don’t smell the tropical nature, as Litchi tends to project. Instead, it pairs with the orange and musk to emphasize a fresh aroma like clean sheets. What’s the most unique part of the opening? Sweet vanilla and praline sprinkled atop the exuberance of freshness and ambroxan.

This is an odd description, but think about sexy, sweet sweat.

The first hour is all about sweet freshness and ambroxan. After this period, fleeting floral nuances amplify the freshness – if that’s possible. The dry down carries this freshness and settles into an oakmoss and fruity base. The rest of the wear is fruity, fresh amber, and oakmoss with a decent dose of musk.

Performance

Greenwich Village lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with moderate and consistent projection. It pushes out up to an arm’s length for the first couple of hours before receding, never becoming a skin scent. This performance is with five sprays.

This is spring, summer, and fall wear. I tried it in the winter, and it developed correctly, but the staying power significantly decreased. It wasn’t worth applying more or heavier with a fragrance this expensive. You’ll get seven to eight months of wear if you live in a four-season climate.

As for occasions, it is all. Its combination of aroma and projection makes it so wearable. The projection is present but not overwhelming. While the aroma is charming and alluring.

This charming and alluring aroma makes Greenwich Village’s mass appeal and likability above average. Along with the moderate projection, this is a fragrance everyone can experience but not be pushed onto them hence, why it is mass-appealing.

Bond No 9 Greenwich Village Clones

The most similar fragrance is Baccarat Rouge 540. I talked about this briefly in the scent profile. They both have a similar sugary-like nature. However, BR540 has a much heavier emphasis on woods and amber. Greenwich Village is a lot fresher fragrance.

Final Words

Greenwich Village is sample and decant-worthy. As a man writing this, the biggest disappointment is that it’s slightly feminine leaning. Sometimes the fruity florals just become too much. However, this fragrance isn’t exclusively for women. It just depends on your tolerance for unisex fragrances.

This is the biggest red flag. But other than that, this is well-blended and easy to wear.
