Coach for Men (2023) Full Review – Is It Worth It?

Coach for Men.

A blue cologne with a twist.

Coach for Men was released in 2017. It is based on citruses, aromatics, and amber. It lasts four hours on the skin with light projection.

In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Coach for Men Smell Like?

The opening is based on a trio of fruits and citruses: pear, grapefruit, and kumquat.

The pear is the most prominent, while the citrus and kumquat are exceptionally juicy. The warm amber and light spices are immediately present. Both linger in the background, giving the scent depth.

As the scent develops, it becomes more amber-dominant. It is an ambergris note, so it has a musky faucet. On the edges is suede that soothes and blends the scent. It is never leathery but adds an animalic tinge to the amber.

Coach for Men lacks a significant base. This is the main reason it lacks performance. The ambery warmth and spice nuances remain while the citruses have faded.

Coach for Men Performance

How Long Does Coach For Men Last?

Coach for Men lasts four hours on the skin with light projection. The first hour, it pushes out two feet; after this period, it recedes to a soft ambiance and skin scent for the rest of the wear.

The sillage is no better. It leaves a trail as you move around but doesn’t hang in the air well. This performance is with five sprays.

When Should I Wear Coach For Men?

This is spring, summer, and fall wear. Yes, it’s versatile enough for all seasons but too weak in the winter. After seven sprays, you’ll be wasting sprays and not getting enough performance in return.

As for occasions, it is all.

Is Coach For Men Likable?

The mass appeal and likability are above average. This has the mass-appealing scent development of a typical blue fragrance. There are no notes here that are decisive. This is an excellent office cologne.

The uniqueness is average. It is a blue fragrance but has fruity kumquat and pear notes that slightly deviate from the typical blue fragrance’s prominent citruses in the opening.

Final Words

If you enjoy the scent profile of Coach for Men but are looking for a more affordable option, Jimmy Choo Man Intense is a similar fragrance for half the price. If you want a full review, you can check it out here.

The final burning question is, is Coach for Men worth it? Maybe. I had a dilemma when making this decision. On the positive side, it is only $45 for a 100mL bottle with high-end designer quality. On the negative side, it is a horrible performer.

This would be a great purchase if below-average performance doesn’t bother you. However, if you’re anything like me and want 8+ hours, this is not for you.

If you try Coach for Men, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
