Creed Royal Water Review – Everything You Need to Know

Royal Water.

A summer fragrance for both men and women.

Creed Royal Water was released in 1997. It is based on fresh spices, greens, and citruses. Royal Water lasts nine hours on the skin with above-average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Creed Royal Water Smell Like?

The opening is a sharp blast of citruses, spice, and green freshness. Citrus, at first, is the dominant note. Yet, all notes work together to create an uplifting and energetic nature. Off my skin, it has a degree of coolness that I find quite refreshing on hot days.

The juniper jumps to the green mixture’s forefront within a few minutes. And soothes the intensity of the citruses.

Juniper had a roller coaster ride. It was lost in the green mix, then prevalent, and now it retreats back into the mix. The citruses are still the star of the show, but the green spices are gaining strength. For the next few hours, it is 70% citrus and 30% green spices.

Once in the dry down, ambergris and musk are the prevalent base notes. With the lingering notes, the finish has a soapy quality. Spices have faded, and once this happens, the scent gets smoother. The rest of the wear is all about citrus notes sitting atop musk and ambergris.

Performance

The performance is above average for both a Creed fragrance and a citrus/fresh-based scent. Royal Water lasts nine hours on the skin with above-average projection. Pushing out multiple feet the first few hours.

Unfortunately, this stellar performance is exclusively for spring and summer wear. But what else would you expect from a citrus-based fragrance? You’ll get a solid five to six months of wear out of Royal Water in a four-season climate.

As for occasions, it’s all. Normally, a fragrance with this sent profile would be for casual wear. But between the quality of the Creed notes and the mid and base being a unique mixture, it works well for everything.

Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are fantastic. It’s almost a given to be likable in a fragrance like this, but here, even more so. Same reasons as the versatility, a unique mid and base note mixture makes it extremely likable.

Final Words

Creed Royal Water is one of my favorite Creed fragrances. Mainly because it has Creed quality with excellent performance. On Creed’s official website, a 100mL bottle costs $470, typical of a Creed fragrance, but it is worth it.

If you like the smell but not the price point, unfortunately, there are no great clones.

After you try Creed Royal Water, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
