Gucci Intense Oud was released in 2016. It is based on amber and Oud with smoky accents. It lasts 10 -12 hours on the skin with above-average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Gucci Intense Oud Smell Like?
Gucci Intense Oud is a simple fragrance from start to finish.
The first 15 minutes are the most piercing but in a good way. There is a smoky incense and subtle olibanum duo with a woody backbone. The smoky incense is the part that some may find off-putting. While the olibanum contributes a fruity-like aroma that adds a unique twist to the fragrance.
The woody notes in the background are a variety of wood accords and Oud. However, the Oud is never the most prominent.
After this initial period, Intense Oud gives way to a pleasant and wearable olibanum note. It is smooth and rich, amplifying the woodiness of the scent. This newfound smoothness is partly from the addition of prominent amber notes that wash over the fragrance.
The rest of the wear olibanum is still the star combined with amber and light oud nuances. Interestingly, Oud was not the strongest note in the fragrance.

Performance
Intense Oud lasts 10 – 12 hours on the skin with above-average projection. It pushes out an arm’s length or more for the first few hours before receding closer to the skin. Never becoming a skin scent.
The sillage is as good. The more you move around, the better this smells and projects. This performance is with three sprays.
This is fall and winter wear. The intensity of the notes becomes too much in the spring and summer heat. You’ll get five months of wear in a four-season climate.
As for occasions, this is all. You may think a loud projector will be too much for the office and other close-quarter settings. It’s not if you use spray moderation. As for all other occasions, it stands out well.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are above average. This isn’t an ultra-loved fragrance, and that’s solely because of its Oud. Some people aren’t going to find it appealing. But that’s okay because the majority will, that’s why this is one of the best beginner oud fragrances.
Gucci Intense Oud Clones
The most similar fragrance is Black Afgano Nasomotto. Both are very similar fragrances. There aren’t many major differences between the two. The interesting part of Black Afgano is its addition of green accords from a cannabis note.
Final Words
Gucci Intense Oud is worth it. I love this fragrance because it is one of the best beginner oud fragrances. Even if you’re an oud aficionado, this will still impress. It has an easy-to-wear but quality and sophisticated aroma.
