What Does Guerlain Homme EDP Smell Like?
Upon the first spray, I’m reminded of mojito. An herbal minty blast leads paired with bright lemon juice. In the background rests the clear crispness of rum. I can’t help but feel refreshed by the first few minutes.
After this period, vetiver additions throw the scent out of balance. The aromatic and woody accents of vetiver push the booziness into the backseat.The further this scent moves along, the more it strays from the mojito-like aroma.
15 – 20 minutes, two things are happening. Sweet florals add to the fresh greens from before. At the same time, vetiver gains a more intense woodiness with an earthy accent. Soon after, the scent rolls into the dry down. The rest of the wear is fresh greens atop earthy wood.

The performance is not as good as I thought it would be. One the skin, it lasts five to six hours with light projection. It’s consistent, but it only creates a one-foot ambiance around you for most of the wear. If you’re into light fragrances, this is a perfect scent for you.
The seasonality is slightly more forgiving. This can be worn in the spring, summer, and early fall. If it gets too cool, apply more sprays. As for occasions, it is all. The projection is perfect for office wear; it won’t overwhelm anyone. And the scent is unique and alluring enough for formal occasions and dates.
Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are great. This is from a combination of its unique scent profile and subtle performance. It’s hard not to enjoy a light, fresh and woody fragrance.
Guerlain Homme EDP Clones
The most similar fragrance is Guerlain Homme Intense. It was released in 2009 before the EDP version. The only difference is that the lime note is not present in the Intense version and instead as a legit mojito accord. This makes the Intense version less citric, but it has better performance.

The final burning question is, is Guerlain Homme EDP worth it? Maybe. A 100mL bottle costs $145 on the Guerlain Official Website. If you have a small collection. I don’t recommend this, as it’s only a summer scent.
However, if you’re looking exclusively for a summer scent and only want a high-quality smell and are not worried about anything else, this is worth it.
