What Does Hugo Boss Bottled Elixir Smell Like?
Do you want a beautiful blend? This is the perfect contrast of spicy and sweet from the get-go. There is absolutely no freshness. It is dark and mysterious like an Elixir version should be.
Within a few minutes comes the smoky incense. And yes, the opening was good, but this makes things so much better.
Give the scent ten minutes, and all the rough edges will be rounded off with a decent dose of warm labdanum. It is a balmy, amber-like resin. It is kind of sweet but mainly like a blanket of warmth.
The spices from the first spray are fading. But the smoky incense is still strong and the star of the show.
The labdanum will get stronger as the scent develops, bringing some wood smells. The wood notes will never get more intense than this. They are mostly there to keep things interesting.
The rest of the wear is smoky incense, labdanum, and semi-sweet.

How Long Does Hugo Boss Elixir Last?
The longevity is in the nine to ten-hour range with above-average projection. It is past an arm’s length for the first two to three hours.
After this period, it recedes but maintains a two-foot ambiance for the rest of the wear. I’m glad we actually got a big projector from an intense fragrance.
The sillage is as good. This fragrance can hang in the air as you move around. Once you walk by, someone will still be getting wafts of you ten seconds later.
This performance is with three sprays.
When Should I Wear Hugo Boss Elixir?
This is more of a formal occasion fragrance. It is sophisticated and alluring but too loud for dates and office wear. It lacks seasonality, too.
At the time of writing, I’ve only been able to test it in warm weather. Yet, I can confidently tell you this is only fall and winter wear.

The mass appeal and likability are above average.
This is a fragrance that someone wants to know what you’re wearing. It’s not geared toward attracting compliments, though it will get them in the right situation.
I wear this fragrance to stand out, and speaking of, this is a unique fragrance. It has bits and pieces of the other Boss Bottled fragrances. However, it is more different than similar.
Outside of the line, it is unique. It’s nothing that’s a groundbreaking combination but nothing you smell often.

Is owning the other Boss Bottled scents and the Elxir version redundant? No. Everyone should give this a sample even if you didn’t enjoy the preceding fragrances.
The parfum version gives you an idea of the woods in this scent, but that’s it.
