Hugo Boss The Scent

Hugo Boss The Scent (2023) Full Review – Do You Need It?

The Scent.

A unique twist on leather.

Hugo Boss The Scent was released in 2015. It is based on leather, citrus, and warm spices. It lasts four to five hours on the skin with light to intimate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Hugo Boss The Scent Smell Like?

The opening starts with zingy ginger spice and sweeter fruit notes in the background. I enjoy that the sweetness is never sugary, remaining a charming and alluring ambiance for its lifespan. There are fresher citruses underneath that help liven up the scent.

The mid retains the hefty dose of ginger and will do so for the rest of the wear. The light citruses from the opening weaken; 15 minutes into the wear, they are nearly non-existent. A leathery and lavender combination sneaks up from the base, giving the fragrance depth.

Prominent leather leads the base with remaining ginger and lavender with woody nuances. You’ll smell this for the rest of the wear but with a degree of freshness and warm sweetness.

Performance

The longevity is in the four to five-hour range with light projection. It pushes out one to two feet for the first one to two hours. After this period, it becomes a skin scent for the rest of the wear. The sillage is no better. Its scent trail is light as you move around. This performance is with five sprays.

This is spring, fall, and winter wear. As the temperatures get warmer, you’ll have to lessen your sprays. As for occasions, it is exclusively for special events, and this is because of the unique twist of citrus and leather.

The mass appeal and likability are average to slightly below average. It has decent quality, never coming off as synthetic. However, not everyone is fond of the combination of notes. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not my favorite scent development. The scent profile does make it unique and stand out.

Final Words

The rest of the Hugo Boss The Scent line will share the same scent profile, but all flankers are better-smelling and easier to wear.

The final burning question is, is Hugo Boss The Scent worth it? No. This is because the other flankers from the line are better smelling and performing for the same price.

If you try Hugo Boss The Scent, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
