What Does Jimmy Choo Urban Hero EDP Smell Like?
Right off the bat, the opening smell is bright. Led by a mix of finger lime and spicy black pepper. The lime is interesting as it is both citric and sweet. It plays second fiddle to the spicy black pepper note, the most prominent. It grabs attention with its awakening aroma.
In the background is a prominent leather and salty ambergris accord, giving the top notes depth to stay.
After 20 minutes, the top notes drastically fade into the background and slowly dissipate. The saltiness of ambergris leaves and the scent is left with a warmer and well-rounded amber note. All the while, the dominant leather and amber duo adds a woody nuance.
The rest of the wear is leather, amber, and subtle wood notes. This is a very linear scent.
The official Jimmy Choo Urban Hero EDP notes:
TOP NOTES
- Black Pepper
- Finger Lime
MID NOTES
- Rosewood
- Vetiver
BASE NOTES
- Leather
- Ambergris
Performance
The performance is average. Urban Hero EDP lasts seven to eight hours on the skin, which is great, but the projection is light. It only pushes out about a foot for the first hour before receding closer to the skin.
As for seasons and occasions, Urban Hero EDP can be worn for all seasons but needs to be applied heavily on cold winter days. And occasions, it is all. A great office fragrance because it is so subtle.
Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are great. The leather, amber, and wood note combination is pleasant, never off-putting. The one part that may be decisive is the saltiness of the ambergris. However, this is only present for the first 20 minutes.

What Does Jimmy Choo Urban Hero Gold Edition Smell Like?
This is a sweet and fruity fragrance with a vanilla, woody ending. The first spray is like a fruity candy drop. While the middle keeps the scent clean and fresh.
By the end, it is a rich, sweet vanilla with wood notes and leather edges.
The beginning of Urban Hero Gold Edition is the best part, while the end is the most interesting. Despite the sweet and fruity nature, this still smells like a playful, masculine man.
Jimmy Choo Urban Hero Gold Edition notes:
TOP NOTES
- Pineapple
- Blood Orange
MID NOTES
- Tonka Bean
- Lavender
BASE NOTES
- Sandalwood
- Oakmoss
Performance
This lasts six to seven hours on the skin with light projection. Yet, it is a weak scent for the last few hours. The first couple of hours are noticeable, but the scent dies down after this.
The scent trail is the same story. It will leave one, but it’s not a cologne that will hang in the air. This performance is with five sprays and ideal conditions.
The performance struggles in the winter, even with more sprays. It is all-season wear, but know that the winter performance will suffer.
You’ll get a solid ten months of wear in a four-season climate. As for occasions, it is all. It helps that the performance is light. It makes this much more appealing and likable to the masses.

Final Words
Both are affordable and mass-appealing. Buying on fragrance discount sites, you can get both for $30 – $40. I enjoyed smelling these fragrances for the review, but neither knocked my socks off.
The one value added for both fragrances is that both are ‘grab and go’ fragrances. If you need to just wear a fragrance to work, while running out the door, either would work great. Despite Urban Hero EDP being a darker fragrance.
If you try Gold Edition and it doesn’t quite work for you, Lacoste L’Homme EDT is a similar fruity and citrus-dominant fragrance at the same price point.
Unfortunately, for Urban Hero EDP, there are not many alternatives, but at least this makes it unique!
