Life.
A scent for a sailor.
Nautica Life was released in 2014. It is based on greens, woods, and light spices. It lasts four hours on the skin with below-average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Nautica Life Smell Like?
This is a very fresh and simple aquatic scent. From the beginning, there is an aquatic tone. It rests in the background and gives the opening a watery smell. Amplifying the aquatic aroma is a sea salt note that is slightly synthetic but attempts to mimic the scent of ocean air.
Undertones of fresh accents are in the background but don’t come from any note specifically. The last top note and the most prominent is a spicy ginger. This is my favorite part of the opening, as it has an invigorating and intriguing aroma. It puts a unique twist on the aquatic backbone.
Traces of herbal greens with floral touches appear in the heart of the wear. There isn’t a note that exudes greenness, but it becomes overwhelmingly dominant as the wear continues. The fresh and aquatic backbone is retained in the mid.
Woody moss leads the dry-down. It amplifies the greenness and gives the scent a prominent woody base. The rest of the wear is prominent woody and green moss notes, sitting atop an aquatic background.

Performance
The smell is alright, but the performance could be better. This lasts four hours on the skin, if that. The projection is well below average. Quickly, after the first spray, it becomes a skin scent.
The versatility is similar since the scent is so weak this is exclusively summer wear. It needs the hot temperatures to make it last longer than a few hours, and that’s the time of the year the aroma best fits. You’ll get two months of wear in a four-season climate.
So, how about occasions? It is best for casual wear. Nothing unique about this fragrance will make it stand out for formal occasions. And the projection is so light that it’s casual wear by default.
Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are great. No one will be offended by your green and woody aroma. But it’s not a mega attention magnet. Just something to make you smell good.
Final Words
The final burning is, is Nautica Life worth it? No, the scent is decent, I’ll give it that, but the performance is horrible. For it to last on my skin until lunch, it has to be at 85 (29C) degrees out.
I do not recommend any Nautica fragrances except Voyage. All others are synthetic with poor performance. This one, especially. Nautica Voyage is also based on greens, and so is this one. So, get Voyage because it has better performance and smell.
If you try Nautica Life, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
