Orange Sanguine.
An authentic summer fragrance for men and women.
Orange Sanguine Atelier Cologne was released in 2011. It is based on citruses and subtle spices. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Orange Sanguine Smell Like?
Upon the first spray is an explosion of orange. It is as if the perfumer juiced a freshly picked orange in a bottle. There are fresh, tart, sweet, etc… accents. Yet, none of these become too much.
This photorealistic nature only dominates for the first few minutes. Soon, aromatic greens will take the scent in a fresher direction while retaining the same freshness. Woody nuances are wafting up from the base but are yet to become prominent.
Imagine taking an orange with the stem and leaf attached and blending it in a blender. That’s the idea here.
As the scent progresses, citric grapefruit and light spices come through. They never amount to much but have a refreshing nature. The rest of the wear is citric with tinges of green aromatics and wood.

Performance
Orange Sanguine lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. What else would you expect from an authentic citrus fragrance? It pushes out two feet at its peak before receding. The sillage doesn’t fair any better. The fragrance has no depth, so it struggles to stick in the air.
This performance is with four sprays.
This is exclusively late spring and summer wear. Any cool temperatures significantly weaken its strength to the point of nonexistence. You’ll get two months of wear if you live in a four-season climate. As for occasions, it is all. It may be too subtle for some situations, but the scent profile fits all occasions.
The mass appeal and likability are above average. This attracts attention because of its authentic citrus aroma. And it’s a subtle fragrance that won’t offend anyone.
Lastly, the uniqueness is above average. It’s common to have a citrus-based fragrance, but the authenticity and unique twist of woods make Orange Sanguine stand out above many other citrus fragrances.
Final Words
There are no great Orange Sanguine dupes.
So, is Orange Sanguine Atelier Cologne worth it? Yes. With an exception. If this will be your only summer fragrance, then look elsewhere. However, if you are buying to add to a collection or solely for artisanal perfumery, then this a cologne you should seriously check out.
