An affordable, old-school fragrance for men.
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui was released in 1980. It is based on aromatics, woods, and spices. It lasts seven to eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui Smell Like?
Right off the bat, it is an interesting contrast. It is both soapy and bitter at the same time. Now, don’t confuse bitter with bad. It is just sharp, in a very clean and herbal way. It has that ’80s power.
As the scent develops, the lavender gets stronger. While the intensity starts to fade. After a few hours, you can tell this fragrance comes in two layers. The base has darker and richer greens that aren’t bitter.
This is all from the new additions of green oak moss and leather. Mixing with the leather accord are sweet and subdued florals. They are the main reason this scent never gets too heavy.
The rest of the wear is leather and greens with woody nuances in the background.

Performance
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui lasts seven to eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. It creates a decent scent bubble of multiple feet the first few hours before receding closer to the skin, never becoming a skin scent.
This can be worn for all seasons but not on the hottest summer days. As for occasions, it is all. Subtle enough not to overwhelm in the office and sophisticated enough for dates, formal occasions, and casual wear.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are average. This smells masculine with a fresh and woody aroma. However, there is nothing about this scent that screams for attention.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui worth it? Yes, this is underrated among the fragrance community.
The best part about this fragrance is that it is extremely wearable, lasting an entire workday and never becoming overwhelming.
One slight downfall is its slight maturity from its old-school aromatic aroma. Young guys can still pull this off, but it will be more decisive for younger guys than middle-aged and older men.
Other than this, this is a quality and affordable cologne for men.
After you try Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui, I love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
