Safari for Men EDT.
One of the best Ralph Lauren fragrances for older men.
Ralph Lauren Safari for Men EDT was released in 1992. It is based on aromatics, woods, and spices. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Ralph Lauren Safari for Men EDT Smell Like?
The opening sparkles off the skin with strong aldehydes, citruses, and faint florals. The main idea is an old-school barbershop vibe. Aldehydes can, at times, be “greasy.” Yet the citruses and florals are fresh enough to keep this wearable.
There is not much development after the opening. An aromatic nature jumps to the forefront. Subtle spices and a woody depth support in the background. These spices replace the citruses from before. To my nose, it makes the scent more enjoyable.
The base retains freshness, but the aromatics and spices get kicked out. The woody depth jumps to the front, bringing leather with it. This fresh wood and leather combination is what you’ll get for the rest of the wear. If you get past the opening, you’ll love the base.

Performance
Safari for Men lasts five to six hours on the skin with light projection. The first hour it pushes out a little over a foot. After this period, it recedes closer to the skin, becoming a near-skin scent. This performance is with five sprays.
This is spring, fall, winter, and cool summer wear. If it’s too hot in the summer, the woodiness becomes too much, even with spray moderation. You’ll get 10-11 months of wear in a four-season climate.
As for occasions, it is best for special events like dates and formal situations. The projection is perfect for these situations, and the aroma is extremely classy. There’s nothing that’s ultra-unique, but there is a quality blend.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are above-average. This is more of an alluring fragrance than a mass-appealing one, and this is for all the reasons above.
Ralph Lauren Safari for Men EDT Clones
The most similar fragrance is Cartier Pasha EDT. It shares the same woody, aromatic, and spicy dominance. However, Cartier Pasha EDT is green, where Safari for Men is citric and floral.
Final Words
Ralph Lauren Safari for Men EDT is worth a sample or decant. As a younger man in his 20s writing this, it is too mature and old-school, but I do appreciate the masculinity of the fragrance.
I think this is perfect for older gentlemen who want a decently affordable special event fragrance that impresses.
