Maison Francis Kurkdjian Masculin Pluriel

MFK Masculin Pluriel Review – Everything You Need to Know

Masculin Pluriel.

One of the highest-quality ultra-masculine fragrances.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Masculin Pluriel was released in 2014. It is based on wood and lavender with a fresh, aromatic touch. It lasts six hours on the skin with average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Masculin Pluriel Smell Like?

The opening is overwhelmingly lavender-dominated. It is insanely fresh but has a shower gel/aftershave vibe. There may be other notes in play, but they are not noticeable.

Lavender carries into the mid and loses its shower gel aroma. Soft leather and subtle woody accords fill the void. To my nose, I mostly smell a duo of vetiver and patchouli. At this point, the scent is very aromatic. This is the perfect combination of an old-school fragrance with a modern twist.

I almost exclusively only smell vetiver and patchouli, making the woody accord. They have a slightly earthy tinge but nothing prominent.

The mid carries into the dry down. The only change is that the leather and the woody notes have gotten slightly more intense. The rest of the wear is very well-blended. It is the two aforementioned notes and lingering lavender.

The official Masculin Pluriel notes:

  • Lavender
  • Vetiver
  • Patchouli
  • Cedar
  • Woody Notes
  • Leather

Performance

Performance is not its strong suit. Masculin Pluriel lasts six hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection. It pushes out a couple of feet before receding.

However, the versatility is much better. It’s great for all seasons. You’ll have to apply one more spray in the depths of the winter, but that’s the extent of the decline.

As for occasions, – all. It helps that the aroma is both a mild projector and simple. The lavender and woody combination never overwhelm anyone. And the projection is never too intense, even in office or lecture hall-type settings.

Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are amazing. There’s something about a masculine aroma that is so alluring.

Final Words

On the official Maison Francis Kurkdjian website, a 2.4oz bottle costs $225. For an MFK fragrance or any fragrance of this quality, it’s actually reasonably priced. Unfortunately, if you search for a Masculin Pluriel clone, you won’t find any :-(.

So, is Maison Francis Kurkdjian Masculin Pluriel worth it? Yes, the performance is its biggest downfall, but you get a very versatile and masculine fragrance. I find it hard to find fragrances that are this high-quality and masculine.

After you try Masculin Pluriel, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
