Man Rochas.
An old-school affordable fragrance for men.
Rochas Man Rochas was released in 1999. It is based on coffee, sweet vanilla, and lavender. It lasts six to eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Rochas Man Rochas Smell Like?
From the first spray, you’ll immediately notice that this is a sweet fragrance. There are many notes working together to create this sweet accord. Faintly in the background are hints of cocoa and vanilla. Almost instantly is an intense coffee note with fruity raspberry and soothing lavender.
At first, it is all about the coffee note, but over time familiar vanilla gains strength. As this happens, the entire scent rests on a warm and light amber backbone.
In the dry down, the light amber backbone with woody accords creates the base. A soothing aroma of vanilla and lavender sits on top. Coffee is still present, but vanilla has become dominant over scent development. For the entire wear, vanilla had a powdery and creamy nature.

Performance
Man Rochas lasts six to eight hours on the skin with average projection. A large majority of the projection is a light ambiance around you. There is a decent scent trail, short but dense.
This is exclusively fall, winter, and early spring wear. The sweetness gets cloying in the heat. And occasions, it works for all but is best suited for dates because this has an alluring sweet, gourmand nature that attracts attention.
Speaking of mass appeal and likability. Both are excellent. There is not a decisive note here. The only downfall that can come of it is if it gets too cloying in the heat; thus, it’s overwhelming. Other than this, the scent is extremely likable.

The best dupe is Bond No. 9 New Haarlem. It has a very similar aroma and is commonly called sexy pancakes. The heavy sweetness in Man Rochas is replaced with warm spices in the New Haarlem.
Final Words
Man Rochas can be purchased for 30 to $40. The final burning question is, is Rochas Man Rochas worth it? Yes, this is an affordable winter fragrance that is going to work great for special occasions when you want to stand out.
My only hesitation with this fragrance is it does have an old-school aroma from the old-school lavender. Young men can still wear this, but it best fits middle-aged and older men.
After you try Rochas Man Rochas, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
