What Does Sel Marin by Heeley Smell Like?
Fleeting lemon opens the scent. When I say fleeting, I mean a minute or two. When the lemon is gone, you are left with a heavy dose of salt water and wet and green accords. All are retained for the rest of the wear.
As the scent develops, it is very marine and aquatic. If you stand on a beach and take a deep breath, you’ll smell the fresh and clean salt air, just like Sel Marin by Heeley. Slight greens still linger, adding the idea of the seagrass note.
Adding depth to the base is a unique driftwood accord. It is light but has a pleasant touch. It still smells like the ocean in the base. Yet, it emphasizes the saltiness more heavily, almost creating a brine.

Performance
Sel Marin lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. It pushes out one foot for the entire wear. This is mainly from the authentic citruses and marine accords that don’t have the depth to last. This performance is with five sprays.
This is exclusively late spring and summer wear. In a four-season climate, you’ll get three months of wear. As for occasions, it is for casual wear. It doesn’t have the depth or sophistication for many other situations.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are above average. This is subtle and high-quality, easy to be liked by many. However, the authentic salty note can be disliked by some. Yet, more people are going to enjoy it rather than dislike it.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is Sel Marin by Heeley worth it? Maybe. I enjoy the incredibly accurate ocean scent, but for the price point and performance, I’m not quite sold on it. This is a nice fragrance to have, but I’ve worn it one or two times, and I wouldn’t be sad if it was no longer in my collection.
After you try Sel Marin by Heeley, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
