Fougere D’Argent.
An underrated Tom Ford fragrance for men.
Tom Ford Fougere D’Argent was released in 2018. It is based on woods, spices, and aromatic lavender. It lasts eight hours on the skin, with average projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Tom Ford Fougere D’Argent Smell Like?
Right from the opening, multiple things are going on. A large dose of ginger is at the forefront, while lavender plays second fiddle. It is not in the background, just not as dominant as ginger. Together, this duo is clean and spicy. The ginger can get intense and sharp for some noses but mellows over time.
There’s a prominent duo in the background, which is the second thing going on in the opening. Wood and light citruses sit underneath the dominant opening duo. When the top notes work together, they have a typical gentlemen’s cologne vibe.
Soon after the first spray, a tonka bean addition will mellow ginger. It provides a shell that rounds off the opening and smoothes the rough edges. Once this happens, orange citrus can become more present. It pairs well with lavender and ginger.
Orange and ginger fade as the dry-down develops. Lavender, tonka bean, and other woody notes waste no time by filling the void. For the rest of the wear, this is most of the scent. It finishes off as smooth and woody with a nuance of powdery spice.

Performance
One of the best aspects of this scent is its versatility and performance. It lasts eight hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection. Most of the wear pushes out a few feet, creating a subtle ambiance around you. After this, it recedes closer to the skin, never becoming a skin scent.
Fougere d’Argent can be worn in all seasons except on hot summer days. The woody depth gets too intense. If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get 11 months of wear out of this. As for occasions, it is all. The projection is subtle enough for the office, and the aroma is sophisticated enough for dates and formal occasions.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. There are no decisive notes about this fragrance. It is pleasant and gentlemanly.
Is Tom Ford Fougere d’Argent Discontinued?
Fougere d’Argent is NOT discontinued. It is still readily available on Tom Ford’s official website, retailers, and discounters.
If a fragrance still has an active listing on the brand’s official website, it is still in production. If not, it is often delisted but still in production and sold to retailers and discounters.
If anything changes, I will update this section as soon as possible. To get the news the fastest, sign up for my newsletter. I send all new review articles and any fragrance news. Example: A fragrance discontinuation.
Final Words
Unfortunately, there aren’t dupes if you love this fragrance but not the cost. On Tom Ford’s official website, a 50mL bottle costs nearly $300. This is expensive, but it raises the final burning question is Tom Ford Fougere D’Argent worth it?
Yes, I enjoy this fragrance because it’s more than your typical Fougere scents. Many, like Beau de Jour EDP, are very light and bright with barbershop aromas. However, this one has a unique woody depth that makes it stand out above all other Fougere scents.
Fougere d’Argent is an excellent cologne and one of the best from the brand. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to Fougere d’Argent. Check out the best Tom Ford colognes for men. All have the same or better quality; you might just find your signature scent.
