Ombre Leather EDP

The opening is intense and realistic. It smells like a new pair of luxury leather gloves. The first five minutes of the scent is a strong leather accord. At this point, white florals are introduced. They dial down the intensity of the leather and are the transition into the dry down.

Here, there are nuances of woody notes, but it is mostly the addition of an animalic quality.

It may be hard to imagine leather smelling fun and interesting, but Ombre Leather does it. Even though it is inspired by Tuscan leather, nothing else smells like it. It is incredibly unique for making a masculine, sexy aroma out of leather and florals.

This is one of the more affordable Tom Ford colognes and the best to spice up your collection.

Performance on my skin is above average. It lasts eight to nine hours and projects an arm’s length for a few. As for when to wear it, it is fall, spring, and winter. The warmer it gets, the fewer sprays you should apply. As for occasions, it is all.

Ombre Leather Parfum

The opening starts with the same Leather intensity. In the background are fresh jasmine florals, light cedarwood, and ozonic and watery violet leaf. These three additional notes help temper the intensity of the leather note.

The dry down darkens with a more intense leather note. The violet leaf and florals have weakened. Their void is filled by a powdery orris. The final addition is slightly heavier wood and a degree of warmth. The rest of the wear is fresh, powdery, leather, and warm wood.

Ombre Leather Parfum lasts ten hours on the skin with above-average projection. The first three hours, project an arm’s length or more. After this period, it slowly recedes. The last two hours, it is a skin scent. This is fall, winter, and early spring wear. As for occasions, it is all. Take it lighter on the sprays in close-quarter settings.

Final Words

The biggest difference between the scents is the more amplified florals in the Parfum version. The Parfum version finishes with a louder and more intense aroma. The performance of both is nearly identical. The Parfum version is slightly better, but it is negligible.

The final burning question is, which Ombre Leather is better? The original EDP. On the official Tom Ford website, a 50mL EDP version costs $155, while the Parfum version is $190.

The Parfum version is slightly more wearable because of its increased florals, but it’s not so extreme that it’s worth an extra $35.

After you try Tom Ford Ombre Leather EDP and/or Ombre Leather Parfum, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
