Tobacco Vanille.
One of the best Tom Ford fragrances.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille was released in 2007. It is based on tobacco, sweet vanilla, and subtle spices. It lasts 12+ hours on the skin with room-filling projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille Smell Like?
Dominating the opening is a heavy dose of spicy tobacco. After a few moments, it is paired with vanilla and fruits that are primarily sweet. Vanilla progressively gets more robust over the wear.
But the general idea in the opening is dark, rich, and gourmand with a smoky flair. Don’t worry about the smokiness; the spices tone it down.
The sweetness carries over to the mid but never gets too sticky. Instead, it is pretty bold and charming. As the top notes settle down, vanilla moves to the forefront. As this happens, a variety of spices and chocolatey woods accompany vanilla. Even in the mid, the scent has a gourmand nature but does it differently.
Equal parts tobacco and semi-sweet vanilla are most prominent in the dry down. They are dense and have a semi-powdery tone. Both are supported by a gourmand nature for the rest of the wear.

Performance
Tobacco Vanille lasts 12+ hours on the skin with room-filling projection. It pushes out an arm’s length or more for most of the wear before receding. This stuff is so strong it practically lives on your skin.
The stellar projection can be a downfall. The versatility is limited to exclusively fall and winter wear. If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get a solid two to three months of wear out of this.
As for occasions, it’s exclusively for dates and formal events. In the office or other close-quarter settings, the projection is too overpowering. On top of this, the scent profile is so quality and well-blended that you’ll want to save it for special events.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. This comes from the reasons above. This is an extremely alluring masculine mixture of tobacco and vanilla. It is also a loud projection to push out and garner attention.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille Clones
There are so many Tobacco Vanille clones I could make an entire article on its dupes. However, the best and the most similar is Velvet Teddy Mac.
It has a similar aroma with tobacco, vanilla, and sweet and spicy notes. But the biggest difference is more prominent spices. Whereas in Tobacco Vanille, the tobacco and vanilla are more prominent.
Final Words
A 50mL bottle costs close to $300. This is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
The final burning question is, is Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille worth it? Yes, the smell and performance are spectacular.
What I enjoy most about the fragrance is that it is loud and bold while still being subtle and sophisticated. It never shouts for attention but deserves it as it is such an amazing fragrance.
After you try Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
