Tuscan Leather
An enormous dose of leather leads the opening.
You must enjoy leather if you want to wear this men’s cologne. It is loud and bold but always maintains its richness and quality. Touches of saffron spice and juicy raspberry try to offset the leather’s intensity.
However, they only take away the rough “edges.” Making the bulk of the scent enjoyable.
For nearly the entire wear, it is just leather. There are subtle additions of smoke and amber warmth in the dry down. Yet, both sit in the background as raspberry and saffron did.
The longevity is in the nine to ten-hour range with above-average projection. The first three to four hours push out an arm’s length or more.
After this period, it recedes to a mild ambiance for the rest of the wear. This fall and winter wear for all special occasions.
Ombre Leather
The opening is intense and realistic. It smells like a new pair of luxury leather gloves. The first five minutes of the scent is a strong leather accord.
At this point, white florals are introduced. They dial down the intensity of the leather and are the transition into the dry down.
Here, there are nuances of woody notes, but it is mostly the addition of an animalic quality.
It may be hard to imagine leather smelling fun and interesting, but Ombre Leather does it.
Even though it is inspired by Tuscan leather, nothing else smells like it. It is incredibly unique for making a masculine, sexy aroma out of leather and florals.
This is one of the more affordable Tom Ford colognes and the best to spice up your collection.
Performance on my skin is above average. It lasts 8 – 9 hours and projects an arm’s length for a few. As for when to wear it, it is fall, spring, and winter. The warmer it gets, the fewer sprays you should apply. As for occasions, it is all.
Final Words
So, how do they compare? The quality of the fragrances is equivalent.
Tuscan Leather is all about leather with fruity, raspberry tinges. Ombre Leather is all about leather with spicier and woodier tinges. Compared, Tuscan Leather has a much more intense leather note.
The performance is virtually the same for both. However, Ombre Leather fairs slightly better in warmer weather. Lastly, Ombre Leather is a more affordable fragrance.
The final burning question is, which fragrance is better? Ombre Leather. It is a much easier fragrance to wear. It also helps that Ombre Leather is more affordable.
