YSL MYSLF (2023) Full Review – Everything You Need To Know

MYSLF.

An ultra high-quality and easy-to-wear fragrance.

YSL Myslf was released in 2023. It is based on citrus, soapy accords, and an ambery/woody depth. It lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does YSL Myslf Smell Like?

The opening is very fresh, led by a bright bergamot note. After a few minutes, a slightly juicy and sweet orange blossom note comes through. The interesting part about the opening is the light green tinge. The overarching emphasis in the first few minutes is a very fresh aroma.

As the mid develops, there is a significant emphasis on clean and soapy florals. This is exclusively coming from the orange blossom. In the opening, it had more of a citric nuance. Now it’s heading in a soapier direction. I have heard people say it’s detergent-like, but it never becomes that intense or decisive for me.

The dry-down is about cleanliness. There’s a combination of sweet-smelling woods and an ambery-like warmth. This is what you’ll get for the rest of the wear.

Performance

MYSLF lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. It pushes out two to three feet for the first four hours before slowly receding. It is light near the end of the wear but doesn’t become a skin scent. This performance is with five sprays.

At the time of writing, it’s only been out about two weeks, so I don’t have any experience with how it performs in different seasons and temperatures other than 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

With this said, it is an extremely versatile fragrance that will be great for all seasons and occasions. It reminds me a lot of a blue fragrance. Thus, the versatility is outstanding.

Lastly, the uniqueness. This is a hot topic in many fragrance forums. This is not unique, but… that doesn’t make it generic or uninspired. This is an extremely wearable fragrance that can be worn in any situation without a second thought.

Final Words

YSL MYSLF is worth it. If you only wear animalic oud fragrances, this won’t stand out. However, for most of us who enjoy wearable and quality fragrances, this gets an A++.

I enjoy how it has a blue fragrance type development but differs from your typical citrus & spice, then aromatic, then wood progression. The only odd part of the fragrance is the bottle. The scent is not dark enough to match the all-black presentation.

After you try YSL MYSLF, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
