Versace Eros.
One of the most popular fragrance lines for men.
In this review, I will describe the smell and performance of Eros EDT, EDP, Parfum, and Flame Versions. Later, I’ll help you decide which concentration is best for you.

Versace Eros EDT
Eros EDT’s opening starts with an intense blast of mint and green apple. There are spicy accents, slight sweetness, and a heavy aromatic accord.
Over the first few minutes, the aromatic accord only becomes stronger. Overpowering, the other top notes.
The first few minutes are equal parts spicy mint and aromatics. The mint is so intense it makes my eyes water a bit. The green apple accord from the initial spray was fleeting.
Yet, it left behind its sweet accents.
After 15 minutes, the intensity of the aromatics and spicy mint fade. They linger in the background and still emphasize a very fresh aroma. Filling the void is a vanillic tonka bean. It is potentially the raw vanilla note as well.
However, at this point, there’s a slight woody depth.
The vanilla accord becomes the most prominent with its sweet nuances over time. In the background are warm ambroxan accords paired with smooth cedar notes. They’re both faint and overpowered by the vanilla accord.
The rest of the wear finishes with prominent, slightly sweet vanilla and green nuances. Sitting atop a faint warm cedar and amber base.

Versace Eros Flame
The Flame version was launched in 2018 and took the EDT DNA in a new direction. Flame is more citrus and woods-focused.
A bright and juicy duo of lemon and tangerine leads the opening. Following the dominant top notes is a warm undertone of black pepper. Like Eau Fraiche, it is not overwhelming but adds a different dynamic to the top notes.
The first few minutes are pretty dependent on the citruses with spice nuances.
But after that, the vanilla and tonka bean pair bring out their smooth, creamy aroma. They are more than background notes but definitely not at the forefront.
For the first hour, there is a strong rosemary note. It comes across as both aromatic and herbal.
Once rosemary loses strength, it opens the door for the dry-down to develop.
The main focus is now on woody elements. The most prominent notes are smooth cedar and sandalwood. Both are accompanied by a faintly sweet vanilla.
For the rest of the wear, it is creamy woods with green nuances, light vanilla, and spices sprinkled on top. If Eros EDT was a scent for sensual love, then Eros Flame is for passionate love.

Versace Eros EDP
The EDP was launched in 2020 and is strikingly similar to the original Eros. The EDP replaced the green apple top note with a candied apple. It also added leather and has stronger sandalwood.
You’re immediately hit with the signature Eros mint.
Is it spicy? Yes, but it has been tamed and more well-rounded. A sweet candied apple, vanilla combination, and subtle citruses play second fiddle in the background. The overarching emphasis is invigorating and fresh.
In the background are wafts of ambroxan with ambery and musky nuances. It gives Eros EDP considerable depth and warmth.
The citruses fade as the wear continues. Sweet vanilla fills the void. The candied apple from before still contributes a sweet accent, but the vanilla has gotten significantly stronger. There aren’t too many powdery nuances; it is smooth and well-rounded.
The dry down is the better part of the fragrance. The ambery ambroxan from before has gotten stronger. And there has been an addition of warm sandalwood and rich leather nuances that smooth over the scent.
The rest of the wear is prominent sweet vanilla and warm woods with subtle amber and leather nuances smoothing out the fragrance.
As a whole, Eros EDP is more refined and mature. It is the great middle ground between too sweet and too mature. Men of all ages could wear this; I call it age-neutral.

Versace Eros Parfum
Parfum was released in 2021 and is the newest Eros. It has more differences from the original but not to the extent of flame. Much of the changes are a heavier focus on resins that add warmth and maturity.
The opening is a typical Eros. A bright and attention-grabbing lemon note paired with spicy mint. Both are very fresh and tamed by the crisp sweetness of the apple.
Interestingly, the opening apple is fruity. I think this was always there in other versions, but it was drowned out by the intense vanilla.
In the mid, I smell the depth of warm amber. This comes from an authentic amber rather than an ambroxan note in the EDP version. Aromatic geranium comes in with power and amplifies mint’s fresh, aromatic nature.
Tonka Bean with vanillic nuances adds in the dry-down of the ambery backbone. The fresh aromatics are lingering, and this is what you’ll get for the rest of the wear.
This is the simplest concentration of all Eros. I can smell all the notes in the scent tree. Parfum is the most expensive version and provides no additional performance benefits.

Final Words
Versace Eros is the popular clubbing line on the market, but it is much more. The original EDT started the clubbing stereotype for the line.
But this DNA has dissipated from the Eros line over the years with new concentrations. All these fragrances are still mega-attractive but get more versatile as they progress.
Right off the bat, the EDT version has the best cost for value but is the worst from the line. This is because it’s a lot sharper and less versatile. I would not buy a bottle of the EDT version again.
The flame version is the best smelling from the line and best for romantic and date-night situations. It’s in the same boat as the EDT because of its lesser versatility. But again, a much better smell.
The EDP and Parfum versions are very similar. The parfum version is slightly more expensive because it contains more fragrance oils.
In short, if you want the most versatile Eros, choose the EDP version. Choose the Flame version if you want the best-smelling and most attractive Eros.
After you try some Eros Fragrances, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
