Jaipur Homme EDT.

Old-school, affordable, and masculine.

Boucheron Jaipur Homme EDT was released in 1998. It is based on warm spices and aromatics. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with above-average projection.

In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

Quick Summary

  • The performance is fantastic. This lasts eight to ten hours on the skin above-average projection.
  • This can be worn for all occasions but does well for formal occasions.
  • I don’t recommend wearing this in the summer, but with spray moderation, it could be pulled off.
  • Jaipur Homme EDT is an attention-grabbing fragrance.
  • Despite its use of common notes, it is a unique fragrance.

What Does Boucheron Jaipur Homme EDT Smell Like?

This is a unique two-layer opening. Right off the bat, I’m blasted with a trio of lemon, lime, and bergamot. None are authentic, but together, they are bright.

At the same time, warm vanilla, florals, and spices are lingering in the background. I know this may be hard to imagine. The main idea is fresh spices atop warm vanilla.

Within a few minutes, the spices jump to the forefront. Cinnamon is doing all the work despite multiple spice notes in the scent tree. Vanilla and florals are a needed break from the intense cinnamon.

At this point, all the citruses have faded. They were only there to grab attention.

Cinnamon leads the dry down and sits atop a decent dose of warm amber. The rest of the wear is dominant cinnamon and amber with vanilla and floral nuances.

Performance

The performance is fantastic for a fragrance this affordable. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with above-average projection. In the first hour or so, it has a loud projection of four to five feet before receding.

The rest of the wear retains a large scent bubble of multiple feet.

The wearability could be better. Jaipur Homme EDT is exclusively for fall and winter wear. Sometimes in the cooler spring, but often it’s too strong.

As for occasions, it is a personal preference. This can get too intense in close-quarter settings. But a great casual wear for running errands.

If you live near the equator, Jaipur Homme will be less versatile as it will have very limited wear. The further north you live, the more versatile it gets. You’ll get five months of wear in a four-season climate.

The amber spicy scent profile is unique; only a few fragrances have this blend as intense. Nor do many project the same old-school aroma as this one.

Mass appeal and likability are up in the air for this fragrance. It isn’t an off-putting fragrance, but it’s also not an attention magnet. Many guys who wear this wear it for themselves rather than others.

If you’re at the office, I can see how some may be put off by this if applied incorrectly.

Final Words

If you’re looking for a clone of Jaipur Homme or fragrances, it’s a clone of; it’s neither. It’s unique in the fact that nothing else copies it. So, is Boucheron Jaipur Homme EDT worth it?

The quality and affordability are worth it. Yet, from my experience, I don’t enjoy this one. The heavy dose of cinnamon and aromatics come off as very old-school and, honestly, a bit odd.

Again, this doesn’t take away from its luxurious blend, performance, and uniqueness. I don’t recommend this as a blind buy as it is decisive, but every guy should try it.

One of the best ways is to buy a mini 5mL bottle. Same fragrance but only costs $8.
