What Does Afnan 9PM Smell Like?
The opening starts with equal parts sweet, fruity apple notes and powdery vanilla. I can’t emphasize the sweetness of the opening enough. It is intense and almost piercing. The vanilla is retained for the rest of the wear, while the apple note will dissipate over time.
The sweetness doesn’t stay at the same intensity. Eventually, faint lavender and cinnamon nuances add. They don’t amount to much but help temper the intensity of the opening duo.
The scent simplifies from this point. Warm amber takes over the fruity sweetness. While the powdery vanilla remains dominant. The powdery accents are weakening as the wear continues.
The rest of the wear is deeper. It’s mainly vanilla with a warm amber depth to rest on.

Performance
Afnan 9PM lasts 12 hours on the skin with excellent projection. The initial part of the wear pushes out six feet or more before receding, never becoming a skin scent. The scent trail is as good. The more you move around, the better this projects. This performance is with three sprays.
This is spring, summer, and fall wear. Normally, a fragrance with significant sweetness wouldn’t be great in the heat. However, this is so vanilla-dominated that it drowns out the cloying sweetness. You’ll get eight months of wear in a four-season climate.
As for occasions, this is exclusively for going out and running errands. The aroma is playful and suited for these occasions. And the projection is intense, which will be too overwhelming in close-quarter settings.
Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. It made my sexiest colognes for men list for a reason. This has an alluring blend of vanilla, fruits, amber, and spices. There aren’t any notes in the fragrance that are decisive. The only time someone won’t enjoy your aroma is if you apply too heavily.
Afnan 9PM Clones
9PM doesn’t have clones but is a dupe of Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male. The only major difference is that Ultra Male lacks an as prominent amber note. While everything else, from smell to performance to versatility, is the same.
Afnan 9PM is one of the most accurate fragrance clones and the highest quality for an affordable price.
Final Words
Afnan 9PM is worth it. It’s essentially Ultra Male for $30. The performance and smell are there. Some will say it’s not worth it because it’s a clone and thus has no originality. But when a fragrance is this good, it’s worth it.
Afnan 9PM is an excellent cologne and an alluring one. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to Afnan 9PM. Check out the sexiest colognes for men. All are primed to grab positive attention; you might just find your signature scent.
