What Does Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum Smell Like?
I won’t lie; the opening slaps you in the face. Right off the bat, vanilla is present. It is the most dominant top note and will last for the rest of the wear.
In the opening, it comes across as primarily sweet but with a touch of powderiness. The sweetness never gets “sticky,” but it is still strong.
Lavender is the second most prominent top note. It mixes with vanilla, and together the two create a warm and sweet spiciness.
As the scent progresses, aromatic cardamom is present in equal parts with lavender. Nuances of iris appear in the background but don’t really add much. At this point, lavender starts to weaken, and the base notes slowly take over the scent.
Into the dry down, the scent has a toned-down sweetness and spicy feel, but it is all about the woody, ambery tone. The rest of the wear is just this warm and deep duo.

The projection and longevity are just as good as the smell and performance. JPG Le Male Le Parfum lasts 12+ hours on the skin with moderate projection.
The more you apply, the louder this will get. This is a great attribute. With four to five sprays, you’ll get an arm’s length projection for a few hours. Whereas two sprays will stay close to the skin for most of the wear.

Even though the performance is strong, it still works in the warmer weather. Summer is a no. But winter, fall, and spring it works perfectly. You’ll only have to moderate your sprays the warmer it gets.
And occasions, it’s best for going out or running errands when you’ll be in an open setting so you don’t overwhelm anyone.

JPG Le Male Le Parfum is a different-smelling fragrance, but the notes are nothing unique. It is common to have a vanilla and amber fragrance. On top of this, it is a more popular fragrance, so it won’t be that original to you.

Yes. All of the above highlights why it’s such a fantastic fragrance. This should be one of the first fragrances every man purchases. A 75mL bottle can be purchased for $90, which is moderately affordable for a fragrance of this quality with this much versatility.
Presentation
The 75mL bottle currently being reviewed was purchased from Macys.com for $75. The bottle is black and shaped like a man figurine. The gold sprayer has a clip that goes under to stop unwanted sprays.
Unfortunately, there is no cap on the bottle.
The box is a tin can with red velvet inside. The name and concentration will be on the front, written in gold. The batch code will be on the bottom of both the box and bottle. Mine is 22431.
History
Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum was released in 2020. It is not one of a kind but overshadows the original Le Male. Both are great fragrances, but Le Parfum has more depth and an attractive aroma.
In 2023, there was a new Elixir release that may be even better, but unfortunately, at the time of writing, I have not gotten to smell it yet. There are at least ten flankers in the Le Male line.

Le Parfum is the version reviewed above. The EDT version is the original. The EDT version is primarily focused on vanilla, while the Le Parfum version is mostly about amber.
The EDT version does not have much warm ambery depth and instead replaces it with stronger lavender and aromatic nuances.
The Le Parfum version is simply a darker and richer version of the original.
