Mugler Cologne.
The most accurate Creed Original Vetiver clone.
Mugler Cologne was released in 2001. It is based on citruses and white florals. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Mugler Cologne Smell Like?
A straightforward scent. It isn’t the best clone because it dupes the opening rather than the entire fragrance.
The opening is all about Neroli and Petitgrain. It’s zesty and fresh, like a luxury bar of soap. For the rest of the wear, the scent will stay extremely linear. Adding musk nuances underneath the freshness later in the wear.
This is the type of cologne you use to either layer or if you’re really into simple scents.
Mugler Cologne notes:
- Bergamot
- Neroli
- Petitgrain
- Orange Flower
- Musk
Performance
Mugler Cologne lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. From the first spray, it only pushes out one foot and remains that way until it’s a skin scent. The sillage is non-exsistent. This performance is with five sprays. Fortunately, you can accidentally overspray this, and it won’t overwhelm anyone.
This is spring and summer wear. There is no depth to last when it gets cold out. As for occasions, it is all. This simple and extremely wearable fragrance can be applied for anything and everything, and you’ll always smell fresh.
The mass appeal and likability are excellent. It’s a subtle and pleasant aroma that everyone in your vicinity will enjoy but won’t be overwhelmed by.
Mugler Cologne Clones
Mugler Cologne has no dupes, but it is the most accurate clone of Creed Original Vetiver. So what are the differences? Mugler Cologne completely captures the fresh aroma in the beginning but completely lacks the earthy and aromatic vetiver.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is Mugler cologne worth it? No. This is a quality and pleasant fragrance, but it’s extremely overpriced. Costing about $75 for a 100mL bottle. If you want Original Vetiver, you’ll have to pay the price.
However, if you’re looking at this individually, Prada L’Homme L’Eau is a better choice. They are not necessarily similar fragrances, but both heavily emphasize fresh and clean accents, like a bar of soap. L’Homme L’Eau is $30 more, but for the additional quality and performance, it is worth it.
If you try Mugler Cologne, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
