Jubilation XXV.

Amouage’s compliment King.

Amouage Jubilation XXV was released in 2007. It is based on amber, warm spices, and subtle woods. It lasts seven hours on the skin with light projection.

In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Amouage Jubilation XXV Smell Like?

The opening is a complex mix of warm spices, slightly sweet fruits, incense, and an array of woods.

The delicate fruity tone comes from a blackberry note fused with thick resin. In the beginning, these are the main contributors to the warmth.

In the background is the array of woods. They all support the top notes, and none are identifiable. They are all so well-blended that you can’t independently pick them out.

Now, the best part of the opening.

The spices are branded in the scent. They are neither in the background nor the foreground but rather encoded in the scent DNA. They are the one accord that pulls everything else together.

As the scent develops, the balance of the woods breaks. A combination of smooth cedar and subtle oud comes through. Both still sit in the background, like the opening.

Yet, they are thoughtfully added to round off the edges, making the scent slightly darker and deeper.

The rest of the wear, it’s incredibly well-blended. A combination of warm and woody.

Performance

Jubilation XXV lasts seven hours on the skin with moderate and consistent projection. It pushes out about two feet for a large portion of the wear.

This is one of my favorite aspects of the fragrance, as it makes it extremely wearable. I get this performance with three sprays. This isn’t a big projector but intense if applied too heavily.

This is exclusively fall, winter, and early spring wear. With too much heat, the slight sweetness and depth of woody tones are overpowering. In a four-season climate, you’ll get a solid seven months of wear out this.

As for occasions, it is all but best suited for special events. The projection is subtle enough to do well in the office or other close-quarter settings.

However, between the price and uniqueness of the blend, it turns heads like nobody’s business.

Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. This made my “most complimented colognes” list for a reason.

For all the reasons above, it is a subtle projector and a unique blend of notes, making it extremely alluring.

As a general rule, sweet fragrances tend to garner the second most amount of attention behind ambroxan-based fragrances.

The best dupe is New York Intense Fragrance du Bois. Both have heavy spice and amber accords.

The biggest difference is that New York Intense has heavier woody accords.

Final Words

Amouage Jubilation XXV is worth it.

It is an expensive fragrance, but you get what you pay for. This is one of the best niche fragrances for compliments.

I enjoy that this is a complex mixture of notes. Many fragrances with tons of notes don’t usually express most of them.

However, Jubilation XXV always has a surprise. From opening to dry-down, you never know what to expect next from the fragrance.

Jubilation XXV is an excellent cologne and a highly complimented one. Yet, don’t just limit yourself to Jubilation XXV. Check out the most complimented colognes for men. All are primed to grab positive attention; you might just find your signature scent.
