Bvlgari Man Wood Essence

Bvlgari Man Wood Essence (2023) Full Review

Man Wood Essence.

A laidback, masculine fragrance.

Bvlgari Man Wood Essence was released in 2018. It is based on woods, citruses, and aromatics. It lasts six to seven hours on the skin with moderate to light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Bvlgari Man Wood Essence Smell Like?

The opening is led by a light and zesty lemon note. It is not juicy but sweeter than most lemon notes. This helps play into Wood Essence’s fresh emphasis rather than a citric emphasis. The base notes are present immediately. Coriander is most prominent with woody cypress and resins in the background.

Coriander, the first 15 minutes is balanced by the citrus. After this period, the coriander fades, and the cypress washes over the scent, bringing woody cedar with it. The main emphasis is cypress with lingering citrus; it stops cypress from getting too woody.

The dry down simplifies. It is all about the fresher woods atop of warm and resinous amber. Like the color of the juice, I smell that greenish aromatic nature of cypress. This is what you’ll get for the rest of the wear.

Performance

This lasts six to seven hours on the skin with moderate to light projection. The first one to two hours, push out two feet. After this period, it is a soft ambiance for the rest of the wear. The sillage is not any better. It leaves a scent trail but nothing that hangs in the air. This performance is with five sprays.

As for seasons and occasions, it works for all seasons, but you’ll have to spray heavier in the winter to give Wood Essence an additional performance boost. It is all-occasions. It is subtle enough for the office but also unique and sophisticated for formal occasions and dates.

The mass appeal and likability are above average. There are no decisive notes in this fragrance. On the flip side, nothing shouts for attention or compliments. It is simply a wearable and gentlemanly scent.

The uniqueness is slightly above average. There’s nothing too unique about a citrus opening with a fresh wood base. However, the coriander, resins, and greenish hue stand out above similar fragrances.

Final Words

Man Essence is different enough that it doesn’t have an alternative fragrance, nor do many guys wear it.

The final burning question is, is Bvlgari Man Wood Essence worth it? Maybe. The aroma is high-quality, enjoyable, and wearable, but the performance is average, and nothing else about the scent is overly special. All this for $80 on discounters…

Try a sample if you can, but this is not blind buy-worthy; there may be better choices. This is a popular choice, but Dior Homme EDT offers the same scent idea, better performance, and easy wearability.

If you try Bvlgari Man Wood Essence, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
