Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Men (2023) Full Review

Eternity Air for Men.

An aquatic fragrance with a unique twist.

Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Men was released in 2018. It is based on aromatics and marine accords. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Men Smell Like?

The opening is airy and light, with aromatic lavender the most noticeable. It is paired with fresh juniper and light mandarin orange. The juniper amplifies the aromatic nature of the fragrance while retaining freshness. The orange takes the scent in a lighter and more citric direction.

Within a few minutes comes a unique seaweed/seawater combination. They give the aquatic and marine nature that this fragrance is known for. The mid retains the sea notes, juniper, and mandarin but adds a warm amber base.

The dry down actually gets lighter with an ozonic violet leaf addition. Warm amber, fresh juniper, and marine seaweed pair equally. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

Performance

The longevity is in the five to six-hour range. It pushes out two feet for the first hour. After this period, it drastically recedes and is a skin scent until it’s gone at the five to six-hour mark. The sillage is no better; this barely leaves a scent trail. This performance is with five sprays.

This is spring and summer wear. Even on the cooler days, I don’t recommend wearing Air for Men as it suffers from weakened performance with already below-average performance. As for occasions, it is casual. It doesn’t smell immature but is a simple fragrance with no “oomph” factor.

The mass appeal and likability are slightly above average. The fragrance has no decisive notes, but it’s still nothing special. If this were more citrus-dominated, it may be more likable. As for compliments, I doubt you’ll get any other than your friends and family saying, “You smell good.”

Lastly, the uniqueness is below average. This is another aromatic and marine-based fragrance. It runs in the same vein as the Acqua di Gio line. Yet, at least it is affordable and smells decent.

Final Words

The final burning question is, is Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Men worth it? No. Its best selling point is its price, only about $30 for a 100mL bottle on discounters, but you’re better off spending your money elsewhere.

There’s nothing about this fragrance that pops. Versace Pour Homme is an extremely simple citrus and aquatic fragrance. However, at least it is high-quality. Eternity Air for Men is average or below average in everything it does.

In the same price range and general fresh, aquatic idea, Missoni Wave and Versace Pour Homme are better choices.

If you try Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Men, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
