Chanel’s finest from their exclusive niche line.
Chanel Sycomore is a simple scent. It is based on dark and mysterious woody aromatics for most of the wear. The performance is outstanding, lasting 12 hours on the skin with moderate to light projection.
Before I give away too much, let’s jump into this review. I’ll describe the smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Chanel Sycomore Smell Like?
Close your eyes and open your imagination. You’re walking through the forest mid-autumn. The trees are half bare, and there is a sweet dew aroma from last night’s rain.
This short story is the epitome of Chanel Sycomore’s smell.
The opening is sharp but not overpowering, prominently cypress and vetiver accords. Both are very rich and well-blended. The cypress brings the woody “fall” aroma.
Vetiver amplifies the woodiness of the scent and gives the fragrance an earthy tone.
Lingering in the background are faint spices and aldehydes that give the prominent cypress and vetiver accords a fresh accent. This is the sole reason; Sycomore never comes across too “earthy.”
The dry down retains its fresh woodiness. The vetiver was the main note for the entire wear and was exceptionally well balanced.
An extremely simple perfume but one that can impress any man or woman.

Performance
The performance is spectacular. On the skin, it lasts 10-12 hours with moderate to light projection.
The first few hours, it makes your presence known, then recedes closer to the skin. It has a very gentlemen-like projection. Which only makes sense for a fragrance with this much class.
As for seasons and occasions, it is all seasons and occasions but works best in colder temperatures. So, if you wear it in the summer heat, tone down your sprays.
Lastly, uniqueness and likability. It is vetiver dominant, so it’s not one of a kind, but how it presents the vetiver note is completely unique.
As for likability, it’s a unisex fragrance highly rated on fragrantica.com. At the time of writing, it had a 4.30 out of 5 rating. For perspective, anything 4.50 and above is the best fragrance money can buy.
So, the masses like it, and it’s also inoffensive.
Is Chanel Sycomore Worth It?
A 2.5oz bottle costs $275 on Chanel’s official website. The performance and smell are amazing. This is the best Vetiver fragrance on the market. Considering all these pros, there aren’t any major cons.
Chanel Sycomore is worth it if you’re seriously considering this for purchase.
What Is The Story Behind Chanel Sycomore?
Initially created in 1930 as Chanel Sycomore EDT. Numerous reformulations have taken place. There is one flanker to Sycomore Eau de Parfum, and that is the parfum version which was released in 2022.
Sycomore comes from Chanel’s niche line called “Les Exclusifs.” All are more expensive than designer Chanel’s, and most use higher-quality ingredients and notes.
Final Words
If you like the scent but not the price point. Lalique Encre Noire has a similar aroma for about a tenth of the price.
Chanel Sycomore Eau de Parfum is for both men and women. This is one of the best vetiver fragrances on the market as it has some of the highest quality and most well-blended notes.
If you’re in the market for a niche fragrance from a designer or Les Exclusif line. I definitely recommend this fragrance.
After you try Chanel Sycomore, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
