Ambre Nuit.
Dior’s best La Collection Privee fragrance for men and women.
Dior Ambre Nuit was released in 2009. It is based on amber, rose, and citrus. It lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with moderate to light projection.
In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Dior Ambre Nuit Smell Like?
Upon the first spray, it is all about fruity and woody accords.
A bright and welcoming dose of grapefruit leads, blending with light rose and warm spices. The spices coat the edges. Giving a sensual balance that is never obtrusive.
Give the scent a few minutes. Slightly sweet and powdery amber wafts into the backbone. It’s a chain reaction as wood notes come out to play.
At first, I mainly get fresh and smooth cedar. But after a while, I pick up dark, earthy touches of guaiac wood. The non-dirty earthiness mixes with the reserved rose.
The duo is a sensual blend of contrast. This same idea can be found in Tom Ford Noir de Noir.
The rest of the wear is earthy rose and spices with wood, all atop warm amber.

Performance
Ambre Nuit lasts eight to ten hours on the skin with moderate to light projection. It pushes out two to three feet for the first few hours before receding closer to the skin.
The projection isn’t loud, but it is intense and wearable, and I’ll talk about why this is so amazing momentarily.
The sillage is mild. It sticks in the air well and is better than the scent bubble, but it won’t fill a room. This performance is with three sprays.
This is fall, winter, and spring wear. I’ve tried it in the summer because it’s not too deep, but it still has the warmth of amber that gets more intense. You’ll get seven to eight months of wear in a four-season climate.
As for occasions, it is best for special events. It’ll be hard to wear for situations other than dates and formal events. Yes, it has lighter projection that won’t be overwhelming, but it’s unique and romantic.
Lastly, likability and mass appeal. This is where the projection’s wearability comes back. Ambre Nuit is present but never overwhelming, making it very likable as it will be discovered, not announced.
On top of this, it has a quality and alluring blend of notes.
Final Words
Some may say this is similar to Xerjoff 40 Knots, but I don’t catch the resemblance. Other than this, there aren’t any great dupes of Ambre Nuit.
The final burning question is, is Ambre Nuit worth it? Yes, it is not blind buy safe, but you should try a sample or decant.
I appreciate that this is a unisex fragrance but never gets too feminine (as a man writing this). It is a calming blend of notes that expresses a romantic aroma without being your typical sweet fragrance.
