What Does Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male Smell Like?
The opening is led by a prominent pair of sweet and fruity pear with a charming dose of vanilla. In the background, cinnamon and mint spice are present with a fleeting hint of citrus. The overarching emphasis in the opening is candy-like sweetness.
The scent gets warmer and smoother as the wear continues, retaining all previous notes. Pear is the focal point for the first 10-15 minutes, with vanilla a close second behind, then all other notes.
The mid adds a heavy dose of lavender that pairs equally with pear. The vanilla note remains present, playing second fiddle in the background. The main idea is still intense sweetness, but the lavender added a fresher faucet.
The dry-down finishes with the addition of warm amber. The rest of the wear is super fresh and sweet. There is vanilla, lavender, pear, amber, and lingering spices.

What type of clubbing scent would Ultra Male be if it didn’t perform well? I routinely get ten hours on the skin with above-average projection. The first few hours fill a room. You’ll never have to worry about a woman being able to smell you. This performance is with four sprays.
But there are pros and cons to this. This is limited to the cold weather. I have tried to push it and wear it in the spring at about 60-70F, and it was fine, but you have to be careful. You can easily be overwhelmed with too many sprays. If you want to be safe, Le Beau Le Parfum is an attractive fragrance that is much better equipped for the warm weather.
As for occasions, this is easy. You wear this to go out, and that’s the only thing it is for. If you don’t go out a lot or don’t have a loud and outgoing personality, this isn’t a great choice for you.
So, let’s talk about uniqueness. This is not the most popular for going out; that’s Eros, but this is still commonly worn. If you wear this, you’re not going to stand out. Yet, you’ll still get compliments and attention. And let’s be honest, do you really need to smell unique if you’re getting compliments…?

Is Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male worth it? Yes, there’s something so special about the sweet, fruity pear and vanilla combination. More so than the other ‘Male’ fragrances, this attracts the most attention, and I contribute this most to the sweet combination.
I prefer this over Eros nine times out of ten. That has become overworn in the last few years. It is still a good fragrance, but Ultra Male is better, and the price is quite similar to the EDP and Flame versions.
I said this earlier and will say it again, as it is important, but make sure your personality and lifestyle fit this fragrance; you’ll be wasting money if it’s not. Other attractive and compliment-getting fragrances will better serve you.
