What Does Mont Blanc Explorer Ultra Blue Smell Like?
The fragrance opens incredibly fresh and bright. The most prominent is a citric bergamot with various fruity notes. In the background are sea notes and subtle woods. Neither are as prominent as they will be later in the wear.
The fruits here are an interesting touch. They smell fruity but not sweet. They add interesting freshness to the intense bergamot.
The citruses and fruits fade quickly as the wear continues. It still retains its fresh nature. At this point, salty marine accords are washing over the mid. Think of them more as ocean water than a basic aquatic accord.
The citruses are completely gone in the base. The subtle woods that were prevalent for the entire wear come out in equal parts with the salty marine accords for the rest of the wear.

Performance
Explorer Ultra Blue lasts three to four hours on the skin with light projection. It pushes out two feet for the first hour. After this period, it recedes and becomes a skin scent for the rest of the wear. This performance is with five sprays.
This is spring and summer wear. The already light projection is nearly nonexistent in cooler weather. As for occasions, it is all. The one good part about this is its easy wearability. Better formal occasions and date night scents exist, but this will do.
The mass appeal and likability are slightly above average. There are no decisive notes in the fragrance. Like the versatility, it’s easy to wear with subtle projection that won’t offend anyone.
The uniqueness is below average. Nothing about Ultra Blue differs from many other citrus and marine-based fragrances. It is also a flanker of the original Explorer and didn’t add much to the line.
Final Words
The final burning question is, is Mont Blanc Explorer Ultra Blue worth it? No. There’s nothing special about this fragrance, and it’s expensive for the fragrance received.
Azzaro Chrome Extreme is a better fragrance to look at with this same style.
