Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir for Him EDP

Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP (2023) Full Review

Bleu Noir EDP.

A wearable and simple scent for men.

Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP was released in 2018. It is based on wood and musk. It lasts six to seven hours on the skin with decent projection. In this review, I will describe the smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Bleu Noir EDP Smell Like?

The opening starts with equal parts Musk and Vetiver. This is a contradictive combination. The vetiver is woody with earthy and dirty accents. While the musk is exceptionally clean and fresh. Think clean sheets.

The vetiver weakens in the late opening and into the mid, while additional musk fills its void. In the background is smooth, warm amber, and ebony wood that lingers up from the base. They have a slight sweetness with some powdery faucets.

This is much of the development. Vetiver continues to weaken in the dry down. However, the scent retains woodiness from a warm cedar and ebony wood combination. They give a warm darkness. Musk is still at the forefront with subtle warm amber. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

Performance

Bleu Noir EDP lasts six to seven hours on the skin with decent to intimate projection. The first hour it pushes out well, two to three feet, then recedes and maintains an intimate projection for the rest of the wear. It may seem like a downfall, but it makes it extremely versatile.

The sillage doesn’t fair any better. The more you move around, this projects and smells the same. This performance is with five sprays. You can accidentally overspray this fragrance, and it’s no big deal as it is so subtle.

This is all seasons and occasion wear. You’ll have to apply a few more sprays in the winter months. This wearability comes from the subtle projection and the mass-appealing and simple aroma.

Speaking of mass appeal, Bleu Noir EDP is excellent. This doesn’t push out and grab attention as well as many other blue fragrances do. Yet, anyone in your vicinity will be charmed by your fresh and masculine aroma.

Lastly, the uniqueness is average to below average. It is quality, wearable, and likable, but none of its notes or combinations is ground-breaking. Just a nice fresh and woody fragrance.

Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP Clones

The most similar fragrance is the original EDT version. I have a full review that you can check out here. Outside of the line is Cartier Declaration. It has a similar scent development when only considering accords. However, it lacks musk notes, which are so prominent in Bleu Noir EDP.

Final Words

The final burning question is, is Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP worth it? Yes, for the right price. The smell and performance speak for themselves. I love having it in my collection as it is wearable and simple with those prominent musk notes.

But… it’s not the most unique or best performer. So, anything above the $50 – $60 range isn’t worth it.

After you try Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
