What Does Paco Rabanne 1 Million Lucky Smell Like?

The entire scent has a lot going on, especially the opening. 1 Million Lucky is led by fresh sweetness and a deeper, woody backbone. The fresh sweetness comes from a tart, fruity plum, and honey combination. No, it is never too sweet or has “nose-puckering” bitterness.

The woody backbone is a combination of notes. It is primarily warm cedar with amber and hazelnut additions. I enjoy the addition of hazelnut as it has spicy, nutty, and creamy qualities. It puts a unique twist on the woody aroma without taking away from it.

The scent is more about the cedar and hazelnut combination as it develops. The plum, honey, and amber notes are still present but haven’t gained or lost strength.

The dry down loses sweetness, mainly from the plum note weakening. I smell warm and sweet honeyed woods with remaining nutty and somewhat spicy hazelnut. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

Performance

The longevity is in the nine-hour range with moderate projection. The first three to four hours have an intense three to four-foot scent bubble. After this period, it recedes to a mild ambiance, never becoming a skin scent.

The sillage is as good. This is a dense fragrance, so it’s great at hanging in the air as you move around. When you walk by, there will be a six-foot trail behind you. This performance is with three sprays.

This is spring, fall, and winter wear. I don’t recommend it in the summer because you have to moderate your sprays so much, and the overall smell doesn’t fit the time of year. As for occasions, it is for special occasions. Of all 1 Million colognes, Lucky stands out the most.

The mass appeal and likability are above-average. This is an extremely attractive scent because of its sweet and unique nature. However, you have to be careful. It can become cloying and overwhelming if worn incorrectly. Lastly, the uniqueness is above average. The nutty hazelnut and fruity plum stand out most to me.

Final Words

As the best Paco Rabanne cologne, Lucky is worth it. I appreciate how the brand kept the playful and alluring DNA but expressed it with a twist.
