Prada Luna Rossa Review – Everything You Need To Know

Luna Rossa.

The original of Prada‘s best lines.

Prada Luna Rossa was released in 2012. It is based on fresh green aromatics and lavender. It lasts seven hours on the skin with gentlemanly projection. In this review, I’ll describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Prada Luna Rossa Smell Like?

The first few minutes are invigorating freshness. This comes from a blend of citrus and lavender. The juiciness of the orange is an excellent contrast to the mellow lavender. Quickly after the first spray is a dose of spearmint, it slowly gains dominance over time.

The mint gains spice in the mid. Luna Rossa was already fresh. Now it is amplified with these additional green qualities. At this point, the scent is always light and airy.

Then comes amber. Usually, this would “weigh down” a scent, but in this case, it doesn’t. Instead, it has powdery/soapy quality that retains the supreme freshness from before.

Amber/ambroxan is getting increasingly more prominent in the dry down. While still retaining its airiness. Light lavender and nuances of mint linger in the background. This trio is the scent for the rest of the wear.

Performance

A typical Prada fragrance with pleasant performance. Luna Rossa lasts seven hours on the skin with light but consistent projection. It creates a nice ambiance of two feet for most of the wear. Never becoming a skin scent.

The versatility doesn’t fair as well. This is mostly spring and summer wear. Some will argue that it’s also fall wear, but it’s never done well for me in the cooler times of the year. As for occasions, it’s all. Like a true Prada fragrance, it has a gentlemanly class that is never too much or too little.

If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get five to six months of wear out of this. The warmer your climate, the more versatile this becomes.

Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are excellent. As eluded to above, this is a classy, mature, and sophisticated Prada fragrance. It’s mass-appealing for a few reasons. One, the projection never overwhelms others around you. They will experience the scent but not be consumed by it.

The second is the smell. Simply, Luna Rossa is a masculine fresh, green, and lavender fragrance. There’s nothing about the scent that would be off-putting.

Final Words

There aren’t any great clones or similar fragrances to Luna Rossa. Many of the Luna Rossa flankers don’t share a similar aroma. However, they’re all masculine, quality, and classy. This is the one thing I love about Luna Rossa.

If I’m going out with friends or family for dinner and need an easy-to-wear warm-weather scent. This is my go-to spray-on-and-go. There’s nothing ultra-unique that’s going to turn a head and make them say, “Haven’t ever smelled that before.” Yet, like I’ve been saying the whole review, you’ll smell quality and classy.

The final burning question is, is Prada Luna Rossa worth it? Yes. A 100mL bottle costs $115. It lacks all-season versatility, but it is such a dependable scent. A perfect addition if you’re building a small but useful collection.

After you try Prada Luna Rossa EDT, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
