Rochas Moustache EDP Review – Everything You Need to Know

Moustache EDP.

An affordable show-stopper.

Rochas Moustache EDP was released in 2018. It is based on amber, vanilla, and woody spices. It lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Rochas Moustache EDP Smell Like?

Upon the first spray is prominent benzoin and vanilla with soft and warm pink pepper. The pink pepper is particularly enjoyable because it has an uplifting nature. Yet it isn’t the type of pepper that makes you want to sneeze.

The scent depends on the vanilla and benzoin duo for most of the wear. The main idea of this combination is rich and warm vanilla. As the scent progresses, there are nuances of floral rose. Usually, rose nuances would be in a feminine perfume, but it creates a comforting aroma in this case.

Into the dry-down, the vanilla becomes woodier and comes across as if it’s been barrel-aged. In the background is smoky amber and woods, a unique touch to the unrivaled vanilla.

The official Rochas Moustache EDP notes:

Performance

The performance isn’t as great as the smell. Moustache EDP lasts five to six hours on the skin with intimate projection. The first hour has a light ambiance then the projection slowly becomes a skin scent.

This is good and bad. It helps the occasional versatility as it thus becomes more versatile. However, it doesn’t work as well on many other occasions because it is so light. It can be worn for all occasions but works best for formal events and dates.

As for seasons, it is spring, fall, and winter wear. The depth of the vanilla, warm spices, amber, and wood becomes too much with too much heat.

Lastly, the mass appeal and likability are fantastic. The vanilla note is the most alluring in the fragrance. And the other notes are supporting but simple and pleasant enough that they’re never off-putting.

Rochas Moustache EDP Clones

Rochas Moustache EDP doesn’t have clones but is a YSL Tuxedo dupe. So how well does it do? Pretty good. The biggest difference is Moustache’s lack of a prominent patchouli note, which is the main focus in Tuxedo. Moustache EDP has a heavier emphasis on vanilla.

Final Words

The final burning question is, is Rochas Moustache EDP worth it? Yes, it is also a must-have. This is mainly because it combines affordability and quality. A 100ml bottle costs anywhere between $60 – $80, depending on where you shop.

I love this fragrance because of the sensual vanilla note and the blend of notes that go with it. There’s something so distinct about the warm spices, amber, and woods in the background that isn’t like any other vanilla-dominant fragrance.

After you try Rochas Moustache EDP, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
